Malaysian Malaysian

Today in macroeconomics class, a friend of mine/ housemate really got on my nerves. You see, we were learning about taxes which lead to topics such as personal income tax rates, GDP per capita and works hours. Our lecturer decided to make class a bit more trivial by comparing these indicators among varoius countries. To make it even more interesting, she decided to ask us which countries we felt had the lowest and highest position in each indicator list.

First, she began by asking us whether we could guess which country had the lowest and highest number of working hours per year. Another classmate and I guessed Japan but we were wrong. My kiasu housemate, without any hessitation, immediately shouted Singapore. For a moment I thought he was right but we were soon corrected by my lecturer who said that it was Korea. We moved on to the country which had the lest working hours per year. My housemate instinctively yells 'Malaysia'. He continued by saying that Malaysians have too many holidays. At this moment, I felt damn embarassed by his chauvanistic attitude towards Malaysia. Btw, France holds the title for lowest number of working hours per year with only about 1750 hours.

Next, my lecturer went on to ask us about personal incomes and GDP per capita and when she asked us which country we felt had the lowest position on the list, my friend said Malaysia; again, he was confident and quick to respond. We all know that Malaysia isn't that badlah wei! Why does he keep on making guesses that he knows are completely wrong and triggers sensitive feelings among people? I mean, he lives in Malaysia; he should know its real situation. We aren't that badlaha people. I felt a bit offended by his comments but even more by his firm believe that Malaysia's a bad country. When Miss Lim continued to say that Singaporeans had a significantly higher GDP per capita than Malaysians ( I think it was something like 4 times more that Malaysia), he was so impressed and amazed by the Singaporeans. However, my lecturer, being a UM grad, added that she rather live in Malaysian as she could afford to buy a house despite her low yearly income. She also reminded us that GDP per capita does not alwaysd reflect living conditions and said that Malaysians who worked enjoyed decent working hours, decent pay for the work they do, loads of government intervention to regulate prices and lower inflation. Plus our country is clean and peaceful. Some of this may onlby be halftruths but they are to a resonable extent true.

My annoying friend laughed when the teacher said that Malaysia was clean and peaceful and continues on his hate campaign against Malaysia by saying that Singapore was much better and cleaner. He also brought up the point about Singapore having Orchard Road. Right now, you can probably guess what type of person this guy is: Diva yang hidup dalam alam fantasi yang harus kembali ke dunia realiti. Ms Lim's using the principles of economics to say that Malaysia is better and he well, says that Singapore has Orchard Road and we shall all submit to her for this huge accomplishment. Me, being my easily irritable self, was so annoyed at Steve's consistent Malaysia bashing which made the class environment rather tense.

Here's what I have to say. Why do people like Steve hate Malaysia so much to the extent that they feel proud that they have thought of a funny comment of point about Malaysia. Don't they get hurt when other people say bad things about Malaysia? I mean, he should look at himself when he makes these comments. There is so much hate and anger fueling him and we wonder how has this happened and turn to alternative outlets such as this blog to give our views. When you see someone speak with hate, you will understand. It is different when people make casual comments. This, like is said, was a campaign. Well planned out and requires conscious action to execute. People like this is the reason why we have ISA. I really don't get Steve's attitude. I mean, where does he think he comes from? China? Singapore? US? More like Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Malaysia. HEheeheheheheeh. How on Earth do Malaysians identify more with people in other countries? Does he think that being born Chinese gives him the fucking right to claim stake to a country like Singapore or China? Why do Chinese people feel like they are better than everyone else ah? I know you guys are hardworking but it should be a personal thing not a Chinese thing. Maybe you guys should spend some time in Anderson to remind you that this feeling of entitlement that you have is completely blown up out of proportion. If there is any race that could claim entitlement, it would be the whites or Jews. They are the most successful, have natural occuring six packs and at least 7 inch erected penis ( I know, random but I should slip a pun here and there :) )and are more evolved idealisticallly. So, please don't feel that you are better that other peoplelah all you Chinese people out there. I mean no harm but when Steve makes comments like this with so much spirit and fight in him, I can't help but feel that he has not been hanging around the right kind of people who make his chauvinistic and resentful towards Malaysia.

I am not pro-Malaysia, but I am not anti- Malaysia either as I know and see reality as it is. Not as the way my father, mother, sister, friend, statesman, prime minister or God sees it. Steve is seeing it from a skewed point of view, a vision of Malaysia that so many negative people have soliphsized on to him. I wish you guys don't forgetlah, whatever it is, you are Malaysian. I know Sze Howe, when you go to Australia and white folks ask you which country you are from, you say Malaysia. I also know when people make bad comments about Malaysians, especially white folks, you get hurt, you feel demeaned, and get offended. Bottom line, you FEEL Malaysian. I have only lived outside of Malaysia for less that 4days (set the record last month). How can one not only FEEEEEEEEEEEEL but BEEEEEEELIEVE that he is Singaporean by only visiting it for a month. The thought is funny, it is like Japanese people thinking they are like niggers from the Ghetto hood. Seriously, laught at it. Imagine some skinny fair Japanese dude dressing up in baggy clothes thinkin he's some kinda hustla. DAMN!!!!!! (Laugh Alvin!) Don't sell yourself outlah dei. We are Malaysian. To me, Steve falls in my literal definition of a loser. You see, to me a loser is a guy who sits around all day saying that he has so many problems in the world but does nothing about it. It is a guy who sits around in his room thingking about all the things he's gonna get when he grows up like a Ferrari or a hot girlfriend but can't even study for tomorrow's DE test. It is also a guy who uses his daddy's money to buy his girlfirend presents. Seriously, anyone who does this is a loser. You don't deserve to call yourself a man and it would be an insult to females if we called you a girl. The reason why Malaysia sucks is because you suck. You aren't investing time to learn to change Malaysia. UM can be just like Harvard if its students there wanted to. They just need to make the difference. All it takes is one person. You can change the entire Malaysia by yourself if you really tried just like Jordan changed basketball forever. Only one person can make the difference and it is you. Just you, not even God can make a change like this if you think about it. But if you really think about it, your built was designed after God himself so you can definitely make a difference. I may teach you ajaran sesat. But I believe that every person is God. That is why we don't have to pray to God. Because you have to live every moment like a God would. This is a burden that you carry, the burden of being designed in God's form. Think about this the next time you can't study or lose motivation. Think about what the Simple Guy said not what God said. Don't be a loser. Be a man (like Russel Peters). Here's a video about what I'm talking about:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIl5RxhLZ5U

A Weekend At Ian's

Okay, this post was supposed to be put up last week. Anyway, I'll finish it now as I will be going to Melaka this Friday and will only be back on Sunday or Monday. I didn't take any photos except for one random shot while Ian and I were at the bust stop. I'll include it as well just to make this post seem more attractive.

Okay, 2 Friday's ago, I began my journey to Ian's around 7.20pm. Yea, I know it may seem a little weird to travel at such a late time especially to a far away place like Serdang but I had to cos Ian was only free from Uni then. I was suppose to take the 6.56pm train but I ended up leaving my house at the mentioned time as I had to transfer stuff out of my computer and into my external hard drive to clear space in my notebook. Tell you why later. Anyway, I was in time for the 7.36pm train and arrived at KL Sentral at 8.00pm. Unfortunately, the train to Seremban (which passes by Serdang) was delayed. I felt a bit surprised as this particular train is also the bread and butter of the KTM train company as it passes by MidValley Megamall. You'd think that they'd pay more attention to this particular route but what to do? You should only expect the worst from the worst train company in Malaysia. Anyway, this caused a 20 minute delay in my journey and I ended up reaching Serdang at around 9.15pm. I felt a bit sorry for making Ian wait at the Serdang station for me for such a long time. I would like to apologize here.

Anyway, it was great to see Ian. I haven't been to his place since April I think. It was great we chatted while waiting for the bus and then left to his place. Then we stopped by the famous mamak stall Ian took me to earlier this year to have dinner. I ordered one Roti Michael Jackson (in tribute to the King obviously) and 1 Maggi Mee Goreng. To be honest with you, I had been waiting anxiously just to eat at the Mamak Stall again. The food there is really really good and there's plenty of variety. Sorry guys, didn't take a picture :P Really sad. Anyway, the food was great and I enjoyed it. I think that they use a special curry as the base for all their dishes but whatever it is, it's working. Just writing about it makes me think about the dishes served there. It is definitely one of my motivations to visit Ian.

Anyway, after we had dinner we went back to his place. I bunked in his room which has changes as he now has his own room. Anyway, we didn't really do much that night apart from talking and playing with his computer. It was really great for me as I had not have a friend to talk too in a while. Haven't met up with my best friend in college too. We slept late although no where near the times that I've been achieving this past few days. We were suppose to wake up at 7.00 in the morning to join one of his housemates for dim sum or something (breakfast, fahamlah....). We ended up waking up at around 9.30 like that. Hehehe. Biasalah.

After that, Ian took me to a shop that we went to last time to have brunch. Unfortunately, I have no pictures which may not be so good for readers out there as pictures would better explain what I will be talking about in the next few lines. Anyway, this shop serves up food in large portions. I think eating there only cost less that RM4 and you get a lot. For RM 4 you get a measly plate of Kuay Tiau in Subang Jaya. It tastes good though. I was quite satisfied with the food in the shop in Serdang. It tastes good and they give you a lot. Worth every cent. Anyway, after that we went to the Mines and spent the whole day there. Ian showed me the new shops at the Mines and we went around looking at electronics devices. The mines is very big and there are a lot of shops. You could definitely get lost walking there. We went to Old Town after that to play with our phones and test out their wifi capabilities. How sad right? We're really dorky people aren't we? :P Yea, laugh it out Simon.

After leaving the Mines, we left for dinner back at a shop near Ian's place. We ate wantan mee and a sizeable portion i might add. Didn't cost too much. Ian told me that this isn't the best tasting wantan mee in Serdang but I felt that it is the best tasting wantan mee that I've had since coming to KL. You see, I have only eaten wantan mee at 3 places so far. The one in Subang sucks and the one in KLCC sucks even more. So I was happy to be reminded of how nice wantan mee can be. One thing great about Serdang is that the price of eating outside is much more fairer compared to Subang. In Subang, you have to know the right places to get the best things which is why you have to have a strong network of friends which I don't have :p When we went back, I topped up my phone again. Seriously guys, I brought this up cos I'm probably the only person who is still using the basic call and sms rates on Maxis. I mean sms costs 15 sen and call  costs 33sen. Damn, only 2 of my friends use Maxis. So you can guess how many times I have to top up in one month. I didn't join the Youth Club thingy co by the time I found out, the promotion had ended. Help me! I called Raymond when we arrived at Ian's and both Ian and I talked to Raymond for like 30 minutes. Well worth the money. Hey Ray, cheer up dude. Things will get better. Hope that you've gotten the room that you want. I was very sad when I left Kuching too. Actually guys, you may not have realized this but an ancient post about me leaving Kuching was written with much sadness even though it was short. I hope you meet friends there. I'll call you every month so that we don't get out of touch.

Moving on. Nothing much happened that night but I went to sleep after piecing together my broken soap dispenser with the World's Most Useless Gam: Bolstik Gam. It didn't work at all. Just wasted my time. Never buy this gam even though they say that it's for pottery and glass. Always use gam gajah.

On the last day, we left for MidValley to meet up with an old friend, Thoo! :)  I had not met this guy since 2006 and well, he hasn't changed one bit. He's still the same Thoo. On our way to MV we were deterred by the KTM service yet again. They canceled a train and Ian and I had to wait for 40 minutes. That sucked and we were both fuming. Studies should be done to determine whether the KTM service is the ultimate cause of anger among Malaysians. Anyway, we met Thoo and had lunch at Kim Gary, a restaurant that I've never eaten at b4. It was nice, I had the bake rice with cheese and well, I still think that the one we had I Kuching tastes better. The Secret Garden one. Thinking of it reminds me of Aldrin saying "well worth the money" or "RMXX well spent" repetitively :) It cost me RM 20 with tax included. They served a soup which tasted average and probably given to fulfill value for money requirement, dessert which was okay but still just given to fulfill value for money requirement and a beverage which was reasonable together with the baked rice. My rating, okay onlylah. I mean your paying RM2o which can be used to buy nearly 7 sets of Onions rings from A&W. For this amount I would expect better tasting food.  The type you don't normally get like sushi.

After that, we went around looking for formal clothes for Thoo who was preparing for a freshmen -sophomore night. The 3 of us spent quite a while looking for a wallet. But serioulsy, the wallets at Jusco are really marked up. You might as well spend your money buying a branded one. They are selling  wallets for RM30 after discounting it from RM140. Think of the profit margins they make on normal days. It was the JCard member's sale btw. Not only that, just imagine how much one wallet really costs to produce? Probably RM10 and your paying RM140 to show off your wallet. Just head down to Paul Smith guys. It's worth the money. Btw Alvin, a shirt at Ed Hardy's cost RM 400. Seriously, where did it come from? Heaven? Shoes cost about RM250, so you might want to consider it although they are about as comfortable as a pair of RM89.00 Converse All- Stars.

Anyway, after shopping around we parted at the Bank Negara Station. Ian and Thoo went to church and I well, you guessed it. I went home to sleep. Anyway, I really had a great time meeting up with you guys. Ian, thanks for being a great host. I really appreciated the effort you put in to take me places and show me how  you've been living your life. Thanks dude. Here's a shout out !!

Oh yea btw, Simon, yea, I really appreciate the words you gave to me and sorry for offending all you guys who I'm friends with. I know you guys are modern dudes who are better than a lot of people. I knew this when wrote my post. When I chose the words, "you just put me in a group" I knew that the same words would be used against me. I wrote my post to raise awareness and to offend racist jerks out there. And also because I was expressing my true feelings. Do not be worried all my friends, I'm friends with you and I know that all of you are not bad people. You guys are great friends and I was not targeting anyone of you. The last thing that I would think of anyone if you is that you are racist. Oh yea, thanks Simon. Thanks, Alvin. You guys cared. I mean reflect on this word: CARED. It is great that you did. To me, one of the greatest rewards is when someone thinks about you. Think about it. Imagine if the girl of your dreams thought about you? Wouldn't you be happy? I thank you guys and even though not a fan of religion I am proud to have friends like you. True Christian friends who personify true Christian values.

I guess that's ALL for now. Will blog when I come back from Melaka. Take care! :) You would have probably walked away or log on to youtube somewhere in the middle of this post. Yea, super long.

Lifeline for This Blog

Since no one has posted anything in the past few months which is worth noting, I will talk about my life. Another rant post? Well not exactly. I will tell you about my life this semester.

Most of you have probably not heard that I am taking only 2 subjects this semester. Why only 2 you may ask? It is because this semester only lasts for 2 months (7 study weeks and 1 exam week which will probably only be for a day). Thus, Taylor's has restricted us to only 2 subjects. We are allowed to take 3 as long as the total credit hours does not exceed 9. However, I did not want to take 3 subjects as it would require me to take a crap subject which I will not use and result in Taylor's earning more.

I am taking Accounting 2 (Managerial Accounting) and Managerial Statistics ( we learn stats with research methods and SPSS) this semester. Both of these subjects are  thought by Mr. KC, who is the present Head of the Business Department. He is a really good teacher as he is a US grad himself. He always knows how to light up the class with his jokes and antics as well as life stories. In short, he's a great guy. Anyway, I was initially registered for Calculus 3 but I decided to do it next semester as the teacher is merciless and drowns them with homework. I bailed because there is only 7 weeks and about 7 chapters to learn. At this rate, I will eventually finish this course without adequate understanding. A shoddy so called mastery of the subject. I decided to pull out. But I have friends who are just doing Calculus 3 only. Not bad. At least they can devote all their time towards it. However, I also have friends who as one of my friends say "have a death wish". Anyway, what I mean is that they take Cal 3 together with Mechanics.

I know all of you readers out there are probably engineers and may be used to taking these kind of subjects every semester. But the problem is Mr. Herol is teaching Mechanics which pretty much means that you have to study all by yourself since he is unable to teach at all. Don't get me wrong, the guy is smart and a really nice guy but he is unable to express himself in English very well (he graduated from Nagoya University, both undergrad and grad). Taking Mechanics and Cal 3 will be a suicide mission because of this.

Anyway moving on, I now have a stable group of friends. We have lunch together much like when we were first in ADP. In the second semester it was usually just Vasu and I. Now, there's Nicholas and Ashraf too. Anyway, we're pretty close. It actually stemmed from taking Microecons last sem. So, yea, I'm pretty comfortable with my friends now. Got a gang already. Maybe you'll be replaced with them in the future :P.

Since I'm only taking 2 subjects this semester, I only have classes on 3 days in a week. On Tuesdays  and Thursdays, i spend my time waking up late and downloading/watching MM and GG (Mad Men and Gossip Girl). I managed to find a very good torrent client called Vuze. It is very good and I have managed to download 14 tv shows in 5 days. This is miraculous and has never happened in my life. I can become a pirate at this rate.

Apart from that, I have been quite happy with the presence of  my new housemate Steven. He's a modern guy and I get to talk to him. We have become quite close and at least I have someone to talk to in the house when I get boring. This was especially important during my 3 week holiday a few weeks back. My other housemate is also moving out in August which is great as I get the bathroom all to myself,  yay! Plus, I may also get to move into his room which is bigger and cooler. My room is very hot. Living in Subang really bites as it is alway hot. I can't stand the heat but I'm just praying that I get accepted into a university in the Great Lakes region of US. Hopefully, it will be snowing all the time. I don't mind wearing summer clothes all the time in the US. I would enjoy it as much as I can.

Anyway, I thinks that is all for now. Someone please post something up. I will try uploading my pictures one of these days. Take care and Selamat Hari Gawai! Btw, as I said to Alvin, Gawai is not felt here, at all. I didn't even realize that it was Gawai until my dad told me. Anyway, enjoy yourselves with your family. Take care!

Going Green/ Luxury: How to Tell If You Bought Something Great

Hello everyone! :) As you can see from my cheerful and bubbly greeting, I am in a good mood. I just bought a pair of shoes from Sunway Pyramid and this blog post will be about the shoes that I bought. After all, it was one of Spartacus's intentions to create this blog, that we update each other on the things we have and bought. I am exceptionally proud to say that I have bought a great pair of Adidas shoes.
First of all, let me start by stating the reason why I bought this pair of shoes. I currently have a black pair of Converse All-Stars which I have been wearing since I first came here back in August 2008. I use them as my walking shoes and I go around everywhere with them. They are great as they match anything I wear. They are after all, the original black Converse All-Stars that millions upon millions of people have been wearing for decades long. However, I realize now why Converse All- Stars retail for such a cheap price (you can get them for RM89.90, which is quite cheap for a branded product, it is expensive individually but cheap relatively). It is simple, the wear off very easily and were meant to be worn in another age. When I first wore my Convers All-Stars, I was happy to wear an icon that had been assimilated many societies around the world for decades.Everybody is just used to seeing this shoe.Anyway, after taking a few steps, mind you I was wearing a new pair of socks. I began to feel very uncomfortable as the rough fabric in the interior of the shoe began to rub against my socks resulting in friction on my shoes, socks and most importantly feet. This just keep happening over and over again and the more I walked, the worst my feet would feel. On some days where I would walk long distances, I would find my feet blistered or scratched by these shoes. My shoes were falling apart too. The interior which was made from fabric started to wear off and tear especially at the heel part of the shoes. This made my feet feel even worst whenever I walked around in it. Oh yea, since the shoes are made up entirely of fabric (with rubber at the soles of course), I would get them wet whenever it rained due to the puddles and rain drops. This, well, sucked. Another reason why I decided to buy a ne pair of shoes was because 2 of the holes (I think their called eyeholes or something) that were like metal rivets came out. I'm not even sure how that happened.
Anyway, I bought a new pair of shoes today. Just look at it. If you were to inspect them thoroughly with your eyes, you'd know that this pair of shoes were made with effort, dedication and most of all passion. My pictures below don't truly capture their perfection so I'm not doing much justice to the shoes. The shoes probably look about 15 times better in real life than they do here:

Here's a picture of the box. It is green in color unlike normal Adiddas Originals boxes which are turqoise. I bought a special edition tennis shoe. I'm not sure what is the model name of this pair of shoes. The box is really great. It is actually quite big in size compared to the normal Adidas Originals boxes. In fact, this is the biggest shoe box that I have ever gotten. One other feature of the box is that the 3 white stripes are embossed. This is a really nice effect and is not available on any other Adidas boxes I have ever seen.

The side view of the box. The model name is stated here along with the details of the shoes. Notice that I bought size 11 1/2 US. Yeah, my feet are big but the supersizing is probably due to the Adidas wierd sizing of shoes. I'm actually a size 10 1/2 US by Adidas standards. 10US by Nike standards. If you look closely the original price stated is RM 329.90. I didn't buy it for this price though.

I'm not sure if you guys can read this but it says Tournament Edition on Centre Courts since 1949. Again, this pair of shoes were a special limited edition. They were made with a lot more effort. So everthing is more special.

Open the box and you will see a big card covering the shoes. It is bigger than and A4 sized paper and it say the same thing as what I wrote earlier.

Here's a nicer photo of the card.

When you lift the card out, you will see the shoes. Don't they look great? This box is special because it is divided into 2 parts. That's carboard there not some cheap piece of paper. Even I was suprised when I first looked at it. This was what made me decide to put up this post. Just look at how much shoe manufacturers are holding out on us.

Another view of the shoes when I put them upright. They look like Adidas Superstars but they are very different. They don't have big laces. The front part of the shoes which is made of rubber has no patterns and has been dyed to give the shoes a vintage look.

The bottom surface of the box when I remove 1 shoe from it.

The view of one side of the shoe. The stripes are in 2 colors. The stripes at the ends are in a leafy green color whereas the center stripe is in a light olive green colour. If you look closely, notice that there is a tag hanging at the side of the shoe. It is made of real leather. It completes the shoes look. The shoes look like haute couture. Extremely high quality. Attention to detail. Not a single flaw. The white leather shines as if they have been poilished with high quality leather cream. The leather quality is seriously very good guys. You have to look at it in real life to appreciate it. It shines and you can just tell, it is just great.

The other side of the shoe. You can see the leather shining in this picture.

Top view of the shoe. The tongue of the shoe is perforated and is made of leather both on the outside and the inside. This is very good since there's a lot of leather inside the shoe.

The tip of the shoe. It is made of rubber ans it has a vintage look. It has a mildly course surface and does not have any patterns which is unlike the Superstars.

The behind part of the shoes. Notice that it is just green in color. Without any patterns or logos.

The heel of the shoe. Look at the badge embroided inside. It looks fabulous. You almost never ever see any shoe with this much attention to detail. Usually, the inner sole of a shoe just has some cheaply printed on logo that comes fades away after you wear it for a while. This shoe has an emborided label. The inner sole is covered with leather. LEATHER man......! How often do you get shoes like these. Most shoes just come with some cheap fabric on the inner sole. The heel part is also made of leather. It is in a mild brown/cream colour and the leather has padding under it. It's just like the interior of a perfect sports car. The leather is really like the ones you find on expensive bags. The Louis Vuitton ones, etc. It's just so fucking high quality.

A close look at the heel. You can see the embroided badge and leather heel here.

The bottom part of the shoe has a simple pattern. However, I think it was designed to look like the holes in a tennis racket or something. I'm not too sure though. But the holes are shape like tiny hexagons.

The label. Notice my shoe size is 11 1/2. I'm a Hobbit. :(

Okay, my honest opinion of this pair of shoes, they are of extremely high quality. They appear to be designed like shoes used in country clubs. A lot of high quality leather is used in these shoes and it really make the shoes live up to their design cnocept. They are like luxury brand goods. They are on the same foot as Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Tods, Stuart Weitzmann, Jimmy Choo. Okay, they may not be that good but I think Adidas really compared themselves to these luxury brands and they came out being winner for creating a product this good. The only thing this shoe does not have is higher quaility material which is what luxury brands like Louis Viutton and Jimmy Choo use. But Adidas used materials which were available to them that were still great. This pair of shoes are really great and shows that Adidas has really branched out into the fashion industry. They are no longer just a mere simple sporting goods manufacturer. They are fashion designers. They are really shoe specialists. While other high fashion labels can make beautiful dresses for women or great tuxedos for men, Adidas can beat them by making the best possible sneakers. It is Adidas's domain and Adidas, with this shoe, has made a statement to high fashion brands which says, "Don't step into the sneaker making business, that's our thing. We've been doing it forever and we know what to give to our customers. All you've got is an expensive brand that appeals to social climbing people who are ignorant".

Now for the price of this pair of shoes. If Lacoste were to sell this shoe, ther would probably sell it for RM800.00. The original price that Adidas names was RM329.90 as I have mentioned earlier. I bought this on discount for exactly RM197.95. Yes, it is still cheaper than those cheap, lauzy, Nike Cortez shoes or the entry level ones. Adidas has really outdone themselves by making a product this good. You've got to respect the Germans, they know how to make their cars and shoes right. It definitely puts Adidas up there above Nike and any other sports brands. I salute you Adidas for making this pair of shoes. For really wanting to make me happy. For doing something becaused you desired to not because you were forced to.You can tell that you bought something great if iyou are just compelled to write a blog post for 3 hours. It is really that good guys. I love shoes. Alvin, this is another reason why you will not ever need a girl in your life. Aldrin, I know, it's just a shoe.

Why So Long Never Post?

Hey guys, post some thingslah, the blog tak panas alreadylah. It seems as if only Alvin, Simon and I are posting. I haven't been posting too much too. Anyway, post somethinglah, a little bit goes a long way. I haven't heard any news from the Kuching people? Did I bring the coolness away from Kuching when I left? Heheehehe. Anyway, please bloglah you guys. Got nothing to talk about meh?

On to my post, anyway, I haven't check with anyone but I guess the trip is pretty much offlah. No one is committed. I don't blame you guys toolah. It was alot to ask form all of you. Instead, due to a logistical problem that all of us have leaving on two separate islands, I've decided to organise a trip for only the Semenanjung people. Hehehe, so stay tunedlah Semenanjung people. Don't worry, the government will give cabinet posts to the Sarawak MPs. Semenanjung people get trips. K, settle.

On another matter, I was sick on my birthday this year. Yea, so sad. I went out in the hot sun on the day be4 helping my dad run a few chores in KL Sentral/ Brickfields area and got sick becaused I was exposed too much to the sun. I get heat stroke real easy. Anyway, at least I celebrated my birthday a day earlier. I went to the Hart's Chicken in Berjaya Times Square after I saw my dad off in the bus to the LCCT. I went to KL. Ate Hart's Chicken, and walked around Bukit Bintang. I even got a chance to look at the latest iPods when I stopped by Low Yat's Apple Reseller. I guess Low Yat is really goodlah because they got the iPods first. They did it in just 2 days after Steve Job's launched them. I also went to Lot 10 and Sunway Pyramid that day just to lepak. Anyway, when I came back I went to sleep and in the morning I fell sick.

I was pretty sick because the fluid in between my ears were imbalanced or something causing me to fell really dizzy and disoriented. I really didn't want to do anything becuase I was sick. So I stayed in bed on Saturday and Sunday. I also didn't reply the birthday messages that were sent to me untill Sunday. Sorry, I really didn't want to reply so late but I was so sick that I was just turned off by the work. Anyway, I want to take this oppurtunity to thank the following people for their birthday wishes. Not in any order. THANK YOU IAN, ALDRIN, ALVIN, AARON, KOH SZE HOWE, SAMANTHA SI and SHAMIR. YOUR BIRHTDAY WIHSES MADE MY DAY. I NEEDED THEM A LOT THIS YEAR COS I WAS SICK SO, THANK YOU!

Anyway, my birthday also saw the arrival of my new roommate. To all of you who do not know, I have been living in My Place Apartments at Taylor's University College for the past 5 weeks and I was living on my own in a twin sharing room for the first month. I was really happy. Living alone but now, I have a roommate. He is from China. He is unable to pseak English very well so it is hard for us to communicate sometimes. He is in Taylor's to do an English course untill next April( if his classes goes smoothly) and will be joining the ICPU program after that. I'm not to happy about having him as my roommate to be frank. I don't have a problem with him personally but I just don't like living and sleeping in the same room as someone. Yes Alvin, this applies even to my future wife. I like my space and I would like to have my own room. Hehehe, I'm a rich, spoilt kid aren't I?

Anyway, I have found a way to get my own room and if my plan goes as well as I hope it would. I will be cutting down my rental by half next month. Anyway, I don't have a lot of problem with my roomate or him as a person but here are what I have to say about him, my house mates and living under Taylor's. Hehehee, I bet all of you were waiting for me to spill the beans rite? You want the juicy stuff don't you? Anyway, in order to do this I need your cooperation. Please don't reveal my name at all, I'm the Simple Guy. That's all.

Anyway, let's start with the guy from China. First of all, I think he's kind of annoying because he keeps following me around and my roommates around. I know he came from half way aorund the world to Malaysia to study but plreaselah, it's just really annoying having this big adult following you around all the time. What I mean is, when I come home and go into my room, he will follow. Then, when I go out to the living room, he will follow. Ad when I go an study in my room, he will follow me and study in the room and then stare at me. Walau wei! He's like a little kid who follows people aroun and is so annoying that I could just lose it. Besides that, he doesn't shower much and has worn the same shirt for the past 10 days. Yes, this is true. Deep down inside, I don't hate him but my frustration is largely generated by my own inability to live with other people withing closed doors. I need my spacce and privacy. I can't imagine waking up every morniong and having a person next to you in bed or in the bed next to you. The thought of having to do thid for the rest of my life scares me. Oh yea, he says 'nigga' alot when speaking to his China friends on the phone. Really, it's sonuds like that exactly. Russel Peters was ritght. Final words: I am not too impressed by the peasant lifestyle of the rich in Mainland China.

Anyway, on to my housemates. Let's start with OKZ. OKZ is a really screwed up guy. That's all I can say. His potty manners are better than that of a dog but just by a bit. Anyway, you get wht I mean so I won't dive further into that. I'm already in deep shit. Anyway, he cooks rubbish and he doesn't clean up after himself. THe kitchen smeels like onions after he cooks and the sink is always filled with rubbish whenever after he eats. He doesn't do the dishes. He throws the sachets that come with instant noodles on to the floor everytime the rubbish bin is full. He let's the cleaner clean up after him once a week and I actually think that he believes that he is smart for doing so. Heheheh. Damn. He doesn't bathe much too. He doesn't bathe before he goes to class but do not worry because he is a 'MAN' and can handle anything. Dirt, germs and filth are only a part of being a 'MAN' rite? This guy also talks as well as he uses the toilet. He always says things like "Ma Cibai" or is it "My Cibai" and "FU**" which makes me wonder if he has ever taken an English class. He watches the TV everyday and plays with Jun Yi's PSP everyday. He's rich, has a car and very 'cetek'. Anyway, this guy is like the typical rich guy with the kampung man's attitude. He lives in the single room. Lucky guy. He goes drinking every Friday and Saturday nite and doesn't bother waking up on Saturday and Sunday. Everytime people study, he will try to oppose their study routine or look at them as if they are weird or wrong. Final words: I am so lucky to have this big strong macho 'MAN' live with me.

Next, we have JC, the Joe. Yes, he is my housemate form St. Joe. Man, this guy is so damn popular. He has so many friends who are all so popular. He is a nice guy but I think there is a something behind him. I won't talk much but all I can say and very rudely too( sorry guys, I'm just going with the flow) is that he has thought me about what certain Christian people want to do. Anyway, I won't go into details but it scares me that some of my friends might be in on this. It is very conspirous and I am detaching myself further from religion. More that ever I feel. I am starting to gain confidence in my stand not to practice religion. Final words: Next time, if I ever become as popular as you I would at least not lie to people who aren't my friends.

Next, we have JY, super genius. This guy is always on the PSP and is so damn smartlah. He doesn't need to study but can score super high marks minimal or no effort. Man, he reminds me that I am even uselesslah. One thing that the Law Of Ueki has thought me is that we all have talents. It's whether or not our talents are useful in real life and whether we can find ways to use them. For JY, his talent is that he can just pick up know;edge from anywhere and use it instantaneously. As for me, I have no talent which I have discovered which means that my talent is no good in the real world or the worl of humans as I haven't found a part of human life to use it in. Anyway, damn, I need to make some serious trade offs.

The roommates in general, dirty, digusting and 'manly'. I want to live with a girl or by myself when I grow up. Anyway, what else. Taylor's management really suck. They only think about money and they can just come into your room anytime they want and move your things around as they like. They are like communists where the government can do anything as they please anytime they want regardless of your presence as a human being to stop them. Then, there's the resident leader. He looks so 'Kiasu' that sometimes I wonder why he is in such condition? Is he afraid that someone will come and snatch his job away? I honestly think that Taylor's put him there and it was not a democratics vote which decided his election as our leader. He seems so competitive that nothing can be achieved and I think that he actually believes that he is smart and logical because he uses his experience to judge people to help him. My God, his experiences has mad him blind and he cannot see past what he want's to see or tells himself to see. Damn, this type of guy just wants to get some part of his resume to mention that he was a "leader" and that he 'actively participated in matters pertaining to the living conditions of Taylors'. Damn, this type of people. Final words: Taylor's is a greedy cooperation with evil and profit hungry management.

Man, I think thats alllah for now. I've talked enough trash for today. Sorry if it was abit extreme,. I'm ranting. Oh yea, to end things on a lighter note, the other day, I tried downloading Gossip Girl Season 2 Episode 1 in Taylors using utorrent. The utorrent ETA status displayed an infinity symbol which means that even after I die, I have to wait for somemore time just to watch Gossip Girl. HUh!? Taylor's internet access really bad.

Update On the KL Trip 2008 (25th July)

Okay, after getting feedback from "The Don", here is what I have to say:

1) The Malaysian Youth Hostel Association is near Petaling Street as I was told by sunRAY. For more details you can just Google or Yahoo it or ask sunRAY. Basically, it's a hostel with bunk beds and air-conditioning. sunRAY told me that they charge by individuals (per head type of fee). We (sunRAY and I) aren't sure how much it costs to stay there for one night to be honest with you and we have not contacted the Hostel because we were waiting to see how well this plan would go down first. If you guys are absolutely sure that you want to go then we will check. I don't know if this helps but sunRAY's rough estimates is that every person would have to spend about RM 20 per night to stay there. This includes breakfast (no other meals). Oh yea, I remember sunRAY telling me that they fit 4, 6 or 8 people into one room depending on how much people are in the same group. I am not sure whether we will be in separate rooms but if 4, 6 or 8 of us go, then we can get the same roomlah. Err... if you want to know more about this place, ask sunRAY. He stayed there after the 2006 KL Pesta. So he can give you a first hand account of itlah.

2) I totally agree with what Spartacus said about the Kuching people meeting the Semenanjung people and then coming back together. Before we can make any plans, I need everyone to send me some information about your travel plans (for Semenanjung people coming back to Kuching) and the academic calender for your current semester (everyone e.g. when classes end, when tests end,etc.). Please also tell me if you are participating in some other activities this December (e.g. camp, working, travelling with your OTHER friends :(, etc.) It is very important. Just post it in the comments section of this blog or sms/e-mail to either sunRAY or me. I will give a date onece I get all the info from Semenanjung dudes.

3) We estimated that our flight cost would take RM400. Actually, those rates were as of the date of the first post about the KL trip. At those rates you'd have to pay RM110.00 for a one way flight(we counted the most expensive flight charge available on that date), RM 45.00 for the administration fee, and RM18.00 (if i'm not mistaken) for the fuel surcharge. If you brought along I bag you'd also have to pay an additional RM3.00. In total, we obtained the figure RM 360+ (or was it RM 370+) for a round trip. I expect these rates to go up drastically. Drink and sunRAY have told me to watch for Air Asia's sale. But truthfully, the flight fees can change drastically. It can become as cheap as RM300 or as expensive as RM600. This needs constant monitoring. So what I recommend is that the range for the flight expenses be set at RM 400- RM 500 to be realistic. Just be prepared to fork out this ammount of moneylah if you want to go.

4) To be honest with you, I think that rite now, only Drink, Spartacus, sunRAY and I know about this trip. I will tell thomIAN tommorrow. Someone please tell Bun and KNee. PokeDex too. Personally, I think we will proceed with this plan once we have 5 people who agree to commit. If there are only 4 people then, we will have a discussion. If there are less than 4 people, then it's off. Deadline I set for confirmation is 1st September 2008. This is the ultimate final date. No further extentions. If you disagree with this date them please let me know. I set it to be exactly 3 months before 1st December 2008.

5) Reminder: Everyone, please ah, I want to be anonymous (just call me simple guy). And sorry ah if I modified your names in this post.

6) I have already posted the draft. Ah, you guys ah, keep bully me in you post ah. Wait, sabar.........!!!!!!! Err...Spartacus, actually, our outings on Fridays have been a dissappointment after you guys left. Only 3 ppl at most.

K. That's all.

My Colleagues

First of all, sorry ah guys if this post is really long. I was advised to split it up in to pieces cos it's just too long and I can't possibly type everything that I have to say all in one post as it will take forever. So I'm posting this part first. Please be understanding ah if some of the things I have said here is a bit old. I just thought that I'd make this blog a tad more interesting (that's an understatement, I'm being humble here okay) by posting some of my personal thoughts. Really, they(my thoughts) are interesting. And what better way to so than by posting it on this blog (afterall, our Friday nights have become "playtime" as one of my colleagues said). Today, I'll be talking about my work colleagues from MPH. As some of you aren't fully aware of, I have submitted my resignation letter and am no longer working for MPH. Working at MPH was ceratainly different experience though I honestly feel that it wasn't that big of a change in my life. I was afterall only working at an entry-level position which didn't require specialised skills. Anyway, I won't be writing about my experience being a full time worker today. Rather, I'll be talking about the people that have made my experience at MPH.....well.....interesting. One of the best things which I have gained through woking with MPH was the oppurtunity to meet people who were from different backgrounds from the usual sort of people that I'm normally with. It was eye-opening at times.

I'll start with the original 10 entry-level employees that the bosses at MPH hired. To further make it easier and interesting for all you readers out there, I'll list them down in the order that they left (or eliminated in some cases, hheehehehehe, reality TV= entertainment):

1) Elayne. The first time that I met her, I thought she looked kinda funny. Maybe it's just me being mean or passing superficial judgement but I thought she looked like a doughnut (the ball type) skewed by a stick. Yes, funny but true. This was the shape of her body. I sometimes subconsciously calle her doughnut. But seriouslylah, she did remind me of the doughnut on a skewer. I know, I know, I'm mean (I can so see Aldrin reminding me of this). Anyway, going beyond looks, Elayne was well............. no a very good worker because of her attitude. I first got to know her when we went for a short trainning seminar at the Harbour View Hotel. She sat next to me and she seemed at first that she wanted to get close to me(not in the romantic type of way Alvin). I could sense a bad vibe coming from her. I don't know, there just seemed to be something wrong with her. Elayne was the same age as me and she was from St. Joe(she had just finished her form 6 and was waiting for her results).

Soon, after we started working (when MPH opened) my other colleagues began talking about her not wanting to work very long(there was a rumour that she wanted to leave immediately after she had gotten her results) for MPH and they began to question this as they felt dissatisfied with her. Maybe they were just unhappy with the way she so proudly told everyone this. Anyway, Elayne seemed to be a decent worker at first albeit a lazy one. Please take note that almost everyone is lazy at MPH so I'm using the word lazy with caution. She usually finds some way of parking her big fat ass at the customer serivce counter(CSD) despite not having any important work to do. If the CSD's full she'll get on 1 of the tiny stools for little children, park her ass on it and act like she's arranging books. Often, she'll take a hell lot more of time than actually required. I usually see her reading some children's book, the ones with load of pictures and I just imagine a doughnut mascot reading(hehehehe, I'm mean). Oneday, a problem began to brew at the CSD. This happened when Elayne became increasingly involved with CSD work. We began seeing some shortages of money at the CSD. Kim and I became incresingly suspicious of Elayne and we wanted her as far away as possible from them CSD for fear that she was pocketing some money. I didn't do anything to oust her but Kim did. She tried giving instructions to her to follow. Eventually, she got the message. We also noticed some problems with the MPH member forms and often it was imcomplete due to Elayne's constant disregard for following standard procedures. Anyway, we didn't have any evidence to prove her guilt which leaves her innocent I guess. However, she did try to steal a book that she ordered for herself but was caught by our boss. I'm not sure how she settled that but I do know that she didn't buy another book that she oredered for herself which was irresponsible and abusive.

Elayne also had another problem, she repeatedly skipped work espescially during weekends. She used to try to change shifts with people to get her own way. But after a while, she just found it to tough and just skipped work as she pleased. This happened probably about 7 times during her course at MPH. She was also lectured behind closed doors several times, thrice if I'm not mistaken. However, nothing work, she kept being her same old lazy self. Oh yeah, one more thing, the reason she used to skip work on weekends was because she was out clubbing and got so drunk that she passed out. She's a party person. Besides, another colleague of mine told me that she stayed at their place for 2 months but didn't pay rent which lead to her expulsion from their house. Anyway, Elayne got the message, everyone hated her for her selfish behaviour and we wanted her out especially Mr. George who had to scold her and treat her in a cold way to get rid of her. She turned in resigned(well, eliminated) and was gone by the second week of May.

TO BE CONTINUED...................................
