Another Short Post

Hey guys, I know that I just posted yesterday but I think I'll create another post as I just got back from the laundry and will be going back in 15 minutes time to collect my clothes (they are in a drier in case you were wondering how laundry gets done in 15 minutes). Anyway, I just want to talk a bit more about making friends in college.

It's my personal feelings and I hope you guys get to learn from what I have to say. Due to the time restriction this post will be 'relatively' short. Okay, I actually started making friends and being a more open person in the past 3 weeks. Why? Well, it started when I attended a debate competition a few weeks back, 2 Saturdays ago to be more specific. I was a volunteer that helped out with very little thingslah actually, I'm really just a small fish. As  the debate club falls under the main campus, it typically received most of its members from there. I knew that going for this thing would make me go out of my comfort zone as I didn't know anyone from the main campus.

Okay, here I am, an ADP student with zero friends at this thingy where everyone was buddies with the other person. I made friends with my superiors and soon I started mingling with their friends and so on. Basically, I learnt that you must not ignore things that you here (the context must be taken into consideration of course). I overheard conversations and didn't hesitate to make friends with people who was talking about things that I knew about. I also know that there are some people who would be a bit unwelcoming to you just dropping into conversations like many of the wannabes in ADP but there are many out there who do not mind. And, I failed to realize one thing about human nature. EVERYONE WANTS TO MAKE FRIENDS JUST LIKE YOU DO. I know that I have been living for close to 21 years but I just realized this.

If you want to make friends with other people do remember that they are as eager to be your friends as well. I know as guys, we tend to have very little friends who are girls that we can actually talk too, but girls are the same and I think that they too want to have guy friends as we want to have friends who are girls. So don't be too afraid to go up to girls and talk to them ( do this in the right way of course, your time). An lastly, loose your inhibitions. Don't think that this will be bad or wrong, just be a sincere and show that you want to make friends with them. Start with small talk and get to the specifics later. Also, it helps if there is another person there. Both of you would not get cornered.

That's all take care.

The New Semester Begins

It's been a year since I first joined ADP and I am 3 weeks into the new semester. This post won't be so long as I'm planning to take my shower in a few minutes and just wanted to update you guys on how I've been as there is nothing to read on anyone's blogs. Yea, you guys know who you are :(

I am taking 5 subjects this semester which are Calculus, Differential Equations, Physics 1, American Literature and International Relations. My tutors in this semester are very good and I think they're the best I've ever been given in any one semester. I only have problems with Differential Equations as I do not understand what my tutor is talking about. He is extremely knowledgeable but it think he is unable to convey the message to the class effectively and my friends and I wonder what is the point of all of this. Like really, I don't get anything. It's all studying by my self I guess.

Apart from that, I have recently extended my friend network as I have been going out with my housemate, Steven's friends as well. It is great as I finally feel as if I have more people to do stuff with and I have been doing so many things too. I went to a Bazaar just last Saturday and a Ramadhan Bazaar today. I'm quite pleased that I get to do so many things with them since they are not from around KL or Subang and want to explore the area as well. I have been taking up Steven's invitation so that I would hopefully be allowed to join them in more activities. I still keep in close contact with my original group of friends though as we get to talk about loads of things. I also try my best to go to the gym every week or so with Nicholas to get a workout. Nicholas is more determined than ever to bulk up this semester. I just want to lose my 3 pack.

Apart from that, studies have been going smoothly for the past 2 weeks as the work has not yet piled up. I actually wanted to take Macroeconomics or Psychology or Sociology but ended up with International Relations after losing my bid. Shit, regret not submitting my form on Monday. Sucks big time. I'm trying to be active this semester as I haven't really reaped the benefits available at Taylor's. First of all, I am joining the Taylor's Business Plan Competition. I have submitted my proposal and it is now left to the judges to decide on whether we have a decent business idea worth investing in. I am also hoping to go to a Model UN conference in Help University. I actually missed two UN conferences this year for being influenced too much by my friend. I guess I will be listening more to myself from now on. We wanted to plan a weekend where I'd go to his house but it ended up getting canceled which dealt me a huge blow. I hope that there would be more activities. I would like to be put out of my comfort zone.

I think that is all for now. That's all. Goodbye. Till next time.

A Weekend At Ian's

Okay, this post was supposed to be put up last week. Anyway, I'll finish it now as I will be going to Melaka this Friday and will only be back on Sunday or Monday. I didn't take any photos except for one random shot while Ian and I were at the bust stop. I'll include it as well just to make this post seem more attractive.

Okay, 2 Friday's ago, I began my journey to Ian's around 7.20pm. Yea, I know it may seem a little weird to travel at such a late time especially to a far away place like Serdang but I had to cos Ian was only free from Uni then. I was suppose to take the 6.56pm train but I ended up leaving my house at the mentioned time as I had to transfer stuff out of my computer and into my external hard drive to clear space in my notebook. Tell you why later. Anyway, I was in time for the 7.36pm train and arrived at KL Sentral at 8.00pm. Unfortunately, the train to Seremban (which passes by Serdang) was delayed. I felt a bit surprised as this particular train is also the bread and butter of the KTM train company as it passes by MidValley Megamall. You'd think that they'd pay more attention to this particular route but what to do? You should only expect the worst from the worst train company in Malaysia. Anyway, this caused a 20 minute delay in my journey and I ended up reaching Serdang at around 9.15pm. I felt a bit sorry for making Ian wait at the Serdang station for me for such a long time. I would like to apologize here.

Anyway, it was great to see Ian. I haven't been to his place since April I think. It was great we chatted while waiting for the bus and then left to his place. Then we stopped by the famous mamak stall Ian took me to earlier this year to have dinner. I ordered one Roti Michael Jackson (in tribute to the King obviously) and 1 Maggi Mee Goreng. To be honest with you, I had been waiting anxiously just to eat at the Mamak Stall again. The food there is really really good and there's plenty of variety. Sorry guys, didn't take a picture :P Really sad. Anyway, the food was great and I enjoyed it. I think that they use a special curry as the base for all their dishes but whatever it is, it's working. Just writing about it makes me think about the dishes served there. It is definitely one of my motivations to visit Ian.

Anyway, after we had dinner we went back to his place. I bunked in his room which has changes as he now has his own room. Anyway, we didn't really do much that night apart from talking and playing with his computer. It was really great for me as I had not have a friend to talk too in a while. Haven't met up with my best friend in college too. We slept late although no where near the times that I've been achieving this past few days. We were suppose to wake up at 7.00 in the morning to join one of his housemates for dim sum or something (breakfast, fahamlah....). We ended up waking up at around 9.30 like that. Hehehe. Biasalah.

After that, Ian took me to a shop that we went to last time to have brunch. Unfortunately, I have no pictures which may not be so good for readers out there as pictures would better explain what I will be talking about in the next few lines. Anyway, this shop serves up food in large portions. I think eating there only cost less that RM4 and you get a lot. For RM 4 you get a measly plate of Kuay Tiau in Subang Jaya. It tastes good though. I was quite satisfied with the food in the shop in Serdang. It tastes good and they give you a lot. Worth every cent. Anyway, after that we went to the Mines and spent the whole day there. Ian showed me the new shops at the Mines and we went around looking at electronics devices. The mines is very big and there are a lot of shops. You could definitely get lost walking there. We went to Old Town after that to play with our phones and test out their wifi capabilities. How sad right? We're really dorky people aren't we? :P Yea, laugh it out Simon.

After leaving the Mines, we left for dinner back at a shop near Ian's place. We ate wantan mee and a sizeable portion i might add. Didn't cost too much. Ian told me that this isn't the best tasting wantan mee in Serdang but I felt that it is the best tasting wantan mee that I've had since coming to KL. You see, I have only eaten wantan mee at 3 places so far. The one in Subang sucks and the one in KLCC sucks even more. So I was happy to be reminded of how nice wantan mee can be. One thing great about Serdang is that the price of eating outside is much more fairer compared to Subang. In Subang, you have to know the right places to get the best things which is why you have to have a strong network of friends which I don't have :p When we went back, I topped up my phone again. Seriously guys, I brought this up cos I'm probably the only person who is still using the basic call and sms rates on Maxis. I mean sms costs 15 sen and call  costs 33sen. Damn, only 2 of my friends use Maxis. So you can guess how many times I have to top up in one month. I didn't join the Youth Club thingy co by the time I found out, the promotion had ended. Help me! I called Raymond when we arrived at Ian's and both Ian and I talked to Raymond for like 30 minutes. Well worth the money. Hey Ray, cheer up dude. Things will get better. Hope that you've gotten the room that you want. I was very sad when I left Kuching too. Actually guys, you may not have realized this but an ancient post about me leaving Kuching was written with much sadness even though it was short. I hope you meet friends there. I'll call you every month so that we don't get out of touch.

Moving on. Nothing much happened that night but I went to sleep after piecing together my broken soap dispenser with the World's Most Useless Gam: Bolstik Gam. It didn't work at all. Just wasted my time. Never buy this gam even though they say that it's for pottery and glass. Always use gam gajah.

On the last day, we left for MidValley to meet up with an old friend, Thoo! :)  I had not met this guy since 2006 and well, he hasn't changed one bit. He's still the same Thoo. On our way to MV we were deterred by the KTM service yet again. They canceled a train and Ian and I had to wait for 40 minutes. That sucked and we were both fuming. Studies should be done to determine whether the KTM service is the ultimate cause of anger among Malaysians. Anyway, we met Thoo and had lunch at Kim Gary, a restaurant that I've never eaten at b4. It was nice, I had the bake rice with cheese and well, I still think that the one we had I Kuching tastes better. The Secret Garden one. Thinking of it reminds me of Aldrin saying "well worth the money" or "RMXX well spent" repetitively :) It cost me RM 20 with tax included. They served a soup which tasted average and probably given to fulfill value for money requirement, dessert which was okay but still just given to fulfill value for money requirement and a beverage which was reasonable together with the baked rice. My rating, okay onlylah. I mean your paying RM2o which can be used to buy nearly 7 sets of Onions rings from A&W. For this amount I would expect better tasting food.  The type you don't normally get like sushi.

After that, we went around looking for formal clothes for Thoo who was preparing for a freshmen -sophomore night. The 3 of us spent quite a while looking for a wallet. But serioulsy, the wallets at Jusco are really marked up. You might as well spend your money buying a branded one. They are selling  wallets for RM30 after discounting it from RM140. Think of the profit margins they make on normal days. It was the JCard member's sale btw. Not only that, just imagine how much one wallet really costs to produce? Probably RM10 and your paying RM140 to show off your wallet. Just head down to Paul Smith guys. It's worth the money. Btw Alvin, a shirt at Ed Hardy's cost RM 400. Seriously, where did it come from? Heaven? Shoes cost about RM250, so you might want to consider it although they are about as comfortable as a pair of RM89.00 Converse All- Stars.

Anyway, after shopping around we parted at the Bank Negara Station. Ian and Thoo went to church and I well, you guessed it. I went home to sleep. Anyway, I really had a great time meeting up with you guys. Ian, thanks for being a great host. I really appreciated the effort you put in to take me places and show me how  you've been living your life. Thanks dude. Here's a shout out !!

Oh yea btw, Simon, yea, I really appreciate the words you gave to me and sorry for offending all you guys who I'm friends with. I know you guys are modern dudes who are better than a lot of people. I knew this when wrote my post. When I chose the words, "you just put me in a group" I knew that the same words would be used against me. I wrote my post to raise awareness and to offend racist jerks out there. And also because I was expressing my true feelings. Do not be worried all my friends, I'm friends with you and I know that all of you are not bad people. You guys are great friends and I was not targeting anyone of you. The last thing that I would think of anyone if you is that you are racist. Oh yea, thanks Simon. Thanks, Alvin. You guys cared. I mean reflect on this word: CARED. It is great that you did. To me, one of the greatest rewards is when someone thinks about you. Think about it. Imagine if the girl of your dreams thought about you? Wouldn't you be happy? I thank you guys and even though not a fan of religion I am proud to have friends like you. True Christian friends who personify true Christian values.

I guess that's ALL for now. Will blog when I come back from Melaka. Take care! :) You would have probably walked away or log on to youtube somewhere in the middle of this post. Yea, super long.

I'm moving out!

Hey guys, as the title of this post says, I'm moving out of my room in SS15. Yup, I'm doing it again after moving out from Taylor's October last year. But this time, there is a twist as I will only be moving to a place a few feet away. Hehehe, I will be moving to my ex-housemate, Alvin's room which is just in front of mine.

I am very happy despite losing a housemate. You see, Alvin was the one who introduced me to this house and even helped me get in touch with the owner. Even though, he did his best to help me, my house owner initially objected to letting me rent the room. I am still unsure of why this happen but it did. Maybe she was lust lazy and did not give much thought to it and just gave Alvin a reply in a haste. Maybe she didn't want a black guy staying in her house. Regardless, I had to meet her and convince her that I wanted the room and I eventually succeeded. When I visited the house for the first time, I was impressed and felt that it resembled my house in Kuching. The large living room area with a dining room next to it was familiar and I knew immediately that I had to move in here.

The room that I moved into initially was hot because there was no ceiling fan and the sun would shine through the windows for a large part of the afternoon up till sunset. The heat caused by the sunlight would was my room to be heated and warmer that the other rooms. I suppose this is also a problem face by my other housemates living upstairs. However, they have air conditioning systems to cool their rooms down and I don't. All I have is a measly standing fan that needs to be repositioned every time I move from my table to my bed (not a fun task especially if you keep doing it over and over again). One bad thing which I did not notice at first was the water pressure. I felt that it was okay when I tested it at first. Little did I know that it was extremely bad.

Anyway, moving on with my story. Alvin is moving out to live with his buddies in a room that will be shared by 3 people with him in the equation. He's moving in with his engineering buddies. I guess I'm happy for him as he will be staying with his buddies. You see, in the past two semesters, Alvin has been staying over at his friends on occasions and his friends have been doing the same as well. I guess he can chat all he wants now and do more things with his friends. He has told me that he will be going to the library everyday though as there is no room for him to study. With 3 people in a room, I can see why that's a problem. He also told me that he wants to move out to save money as it only costs RM18+ to share a room.

Now back to the black guy part. Okay, my house owner has been a bit unfair to me for being born a black guy. You see, Alvin's room is a bit bigger than mine (a bit, but their is noticeably significant difference) and he only has to pay RM270 every month. Me on the other hand, paid RM290 just get my less featured room. Then one day, when there was an opening in the top floor (i.e. one of the air conditioned rooms), she offered it to me for RM550. Steven, my other housemate only needs to pay RM500. Now, she is offering me Alvin's room for RM340. That's RM70 more that she did to Alvin. I tell you this, it is because I'm black. Simple. I always get charged higher because of the color of my skin and my inability to converse in Chinese. It sucks being a black guy. Don't think I do not understand the value of RM70. I once had only RM75 in my bank account and there was still about 2 weeks to go before the end of the month. I remember how much I had to make use of that RM75. I ended up asking my dad for more money and I get how embarrassing it is. You know what, I just don't get why black people get discriminated. People think we're dirty, rough and uneducated. Girls and women stay away from me and think I'm a mat rempit, penyamun, perogol or peragut. Indians and Chinese consider me Malay and think the worse of me. Who do I go to? I can't got to the Chinese, Indians or Malays. Who? God ah? The biggest joke. And you guys go to church every Sunday and shout Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Almighty God Hallelujah! "It's a joke, It's all a joke" as the Comedian would say.  It's bad enough that I have to live with the inevitable fact that no one will ever love me. It is made worst as I have to face discrimination from the white people of Malaysia, my supposedly superiors, masters. You guys will never changelah. White people will always look down, put down and make sure we black people stay down. I feel pain of all black peoples of this nation facing discrimination from the whites. Why do you white guys feel better than us black people? What have I ever done to deny you the right to live? Nothing, but you put me in this group of people that you feel are lower, lesser, insignificant, milk-able than your superior white genes. I didn't chose to be born like this, your "Saviour" "made(if He does existlah)me this way. I'm an ugly dumb bad black man. I'm an ugly dumb bad black man. I'm an ugly dumb bad black man. There's I've said it. You can keep reading this sentence for the rest of your lives you white people as a reminder of how you triumphed over me. It is sealed in history. I kneel down with all the pride left in me kicked out by you; bow and place my hands and head at your feet; I front of the whole world and declare I submit, I lose you win, I am nothing, I am beneath you; I am a lesser creature who can only envy the life a true human being (a white person), the beauty, the accomplishment and the greatness of the white race; and I humbly and with the greatest of hope, I beg for your mercy to allow me to have the very basic elements required to sustain life which the Almighty God has placed in your possession. I plead for you most gracious mercy. A degree of mercy which only the white race can ever achieve.

Inspired or Disturbed.

And you guys go to church every Sunday and shout Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Almighty God Hallelujah!

"It's a joke, It's all a joke"

Life in UMS...

Yo, guys (again but this time all the way from KK)... Thanks, Ravin.. I guess you'll gonna blog a lot within this few days la.. Keep up you're super long blog.. Haha!

Yes!! Finally I was able to settle down, sitting here in the Megalab.. Well, Megalab is like a cyber for UMS student.. There are about 500 computers in this lab (at least they don't call Magalab for nothing).. To use these coms, I need to get the access voucher from the counter and it can last for 5 hours.. And if you still don't get enough from that 5 hours, you can just go to the counter and get another voucher.. Ah.. Next time can come here for LAN party la.. Haha!

This the view of Megalab from the entrance
(noticed that there's a guy walking pass, he is also from second intake)

Sorry for if I'm not posting any good photos from Sabah in this sem.. I'm actually using my handphone.. Plus the internet connections is quite slow here.. Perhaps, I'll bring my cam over next sem.. Whahaha!!! (Syok Sendiri)

Today is my first day meeting with all my new gangs from E&E.. And guess what? The first intake for this course is only 17 students!! 8 more from the second intake (including me) for now.. So I have been wondering if I'm studying in the right place or not.. But of course, there is "part of the reason" for being here though.. But in study wise, I hope I can get the most of it from here..

Ok la.. I'll continue more some other time.. Time for lunch.. Lol!
See you guys again end of this year (by November)..
Byes and God Bless!! ^_^

Congrats to Raymond!!!!!!!!!

First of all, I would like to congratulate Raymond on gaining admission into UMS. I'm SURE he will enjoy himself there  A LOT (if you guys know what I mean  O_^ ). I guess everyone in our group has finally entered university. I was thinking the other day of how everyone has gone to different places. Hershel to UNIMAS, Simon to UM, Ian to UPM, Raymond to UMS, Aaron  to Cardiff, Aldrin and Sze Howe to UWA, Alvin to UTM and me to Taylor's. We are all in different places. So far away some more.

Actually, I'm a bit disappointed that Raymond got into UMS. Don't get me wrong, I was hoping all the way that he would get into the university of his choice but I was secretly hoping that he would get into UTM as well. That way, I would have somewhere to visit during my holidays -_-". I mean, if he got into UTM, I would be able to go to Johor to meet him and Alvin. Since he has gone to Sabah, my holiday plans have been canceled :( . Unless of course, I want to have some one on one time, heart to heart, jiwa sama jiwa gayfest alone with Alvin :P. Not cool. On the bright side, Raymond doesn't need any company from us guys when he is Sabah. He can have as many heart to hearts, jiwa sama jiwa, one to one time non-gayfests as he wants in Sabah.

My holidays began 2 mondays ago actually. I finished both my exams on Monday and then it was over. I was so tired that I fell asleep when I got back. Then, I went out with Ian and Jonathan Hoh who was visiting Malaysia for 3 weeks I think. He is in Kuching now I guess. Jonathan Hoh has really changed I guess. I told him that he hasn't but I guess he has in a huge way. I mean it is not that he dresses or styles himself differently. It's the way he mixes with people. The last time Jonathan was here, he seemed like a shy guy who was only very comfortable with those close to him. Now, he has opened up to other people a well. I think the change is great. He's still the same Jonathan we know albeit with a strong New Zealand accent which is hard to catch at times. I can really learn a lot from Jonathan's change. Maybe I too should be more open and comfortable with strangers. I tend to treat my friends much better than I do to my acquaintances.

I also went to Melaka from Friday to Monday last week. Melaka is great and it has really changed if you guys haven't known. The whole place has developed physically. There are so many malls now compared to when we went there at the end of 2003. Last time, the only mall that was in the city (ie. around the Stadhuys Church) was Mahkota Parade. Now there is a very big shopping mall just across the road from Mahkota called Dataran. There is also another mall cum hotel which will be completed by the end of the year I think called Hatten Square. Just look at the photo below:

I'm not sure if you guys remember, but this used to be a plain old stands on a padang. Now, the padang has been replaced by a mall. The building on the right is the second part of Dataran and the building in the back on the left of the photo is Hatten Square. The soon to be constructed mall. But  I like the new Melaka. There are so many cool places within one area. You can just walk around to find something to do. Here are some more pics:

Here's a view of Dataran. This is the entrance with  a lot of restaurants.

Stadhuys Church. The trishaw driver on the left crashed into the 2 tiny pillars in the middle of the photo a few seconds after this photo was taken :(

A Farmosa. I took quite an okay picture of it.

A waterfall-like wall in the shop in which I ate Chicken Rice Balls for the first time. The girl seating on the left is quite pretty. To bad she is a SPG who only wants white head.

The Chicken Rice Ball Shop again in Jonker Street.

Menara Taming Sari at night. This is something new. Kinda cool actually though I didn't go inside it.

The Eye on Malaysia. This place is actually Melaka's number 1 tempat berdating at night actually. It is like waterfront only 10 times better. There was so many couples berdating that it was hard for me to find a spot to take a picture.

Melaka River. This river is much more cleaner than the one in Kuching.

Anyway, I'll update you with more posts soon. Got plenty of free time. Take care :)

Lifeline for This Blog

Since no one has posted anything in the past few months which is worth noting, I will talk about my life. Another rant post? Well not exactly. I will tell you about my life this semester.

Most of you have probably not heard that I am taking only 2 subjects this semester. Why only 2 you may ask? It is because this semester only lasts for 2 months (7 study weeks and 1 exam week which will probably only be for a day). Thus, Taylor's has restricted us to only 2 subjects. We are allowed to take 3 as long as the total credit hours does not exceed 9. However, I did not want to take 3 subjects as it would require me to take a crap subject which I will not use and result in Taylor's earning more.

I am taking Accounting 2 (Managerial Accounting) and Managerial Statistics ( we learn stats with research methods and SPSS) this semester. Both of these subjects are  thought by Mr. KC, who is the present Head of the Business Department. He is a really good teacher as he is a US grad himself. He always knows how to light up the class with his jokes and antics as well as life stories. In short, he's a great guy. Anyway, I was initially registered for Calculus 3 but I decided to do it next semester as the teacher is merciless and drowns them with homework. I bailed because there is only 7 weeks and about 7 chapters to learn. At this rate, I will eventually finish this course without adequate understanding. A shoddy so called mastery of the subject. I decided to pull out. But I have friends who are just doing Calculus 3 only. Not bad. At least they can devote all their time towards it. However, I also have friends who as one of my friends say "have a death wish". Anyway, what I mean is that they take Cal 3 together with Mechanics.

I know all of you readers out there are probably engineers and may be used to taking these kind of subjects every semester. But the problem is Mr. Herol is teaching Mechanics which pretty much means that you have to study all by yourself since he is unable to teach at all. Don't get me wrong, the guy is smart and a really nice guy but he is unable to express himself in English very well (he graduated from Nagoya University, both undergrad and grad). Taking Mechanics and Cal 3 will be a suicide mission because of this.

Anyway moving on, I now have a stable group of friends. We have lunch together much like when we were first in ADP. In the second semester it was usually just Vasu and I. Now, there's Nicholas and Ashraf too. Anyway, we're pretty close. It actually stemmed from taking Microecons last sem. So, yea, I'm pretty comfortable with my friends now. Got a gang already. Maybe you'll be replaced with them in the future :P.

Since I'm only taking 2 subjects this semester, I only have classes on 3 days in a week. On Tuesdays  and Thursdays, i spend my time waking up late and downloading/watching MM and GG (Mad Men and Gossip Girl). I managed to find a very good torrent client called Vuze. It is very good and I have managed to download 14 tv shows in 5 days. This is miraculous and has never happened in my life. I can become a pirate at this rate.

Apart from that, I have been quite happy with the presence of  my new housemate Steven. He's a modern guy and I get to talk to him. We have become quite close and at least I have someone to talk to in the house when I get boring. This was especially important during my 3 week holiday a few weeks back. My other housemate is also moving out in August which is great as I get the bathroom all to myself,  yay! Plus, I may also get to move into his room which is bigger and cooler. My room is very hot. Living in Subang really bites as it is alway hot. I can't stand the heat but I'm just praying that I get accepted into a university in the Great Lakes region of US. Hopefully, it will be snowing all the time. I don't mind wearing summer clothes all the time in the US. I would enjoy it as much as I can.

Anyway, I thinks that is all for now. Someone please post something up. I will try uploading my pictures one of these days. Take care and Selamat Hari Gawai! Btw, as I said to Alvin, Gawai is not felt here, at all. I didn't even realize that it was Gawai until my dad told me. Anyway, enjoy yourselves with your family. Take care!

G'day mates

Hey guys!

It's really refreshing to read through all your posts; your typing styles sound just like the way you talk back in high school, so it's like hearing your voices again.

So anyway, Hi!

Going Green/ Luxury: How to Tell If You Bought Something Great

Hello everyone! :) As you can see from my cheerful and bubbly greeting, I am in a good mood. I just bought a pair of shoes from Sunway Pyramid and this blog post will be about the shoes that I bought. After all, it was one of Spartacus's intentions to create this blog, that we update each other on the things we have and bought. I am exceptionally proud to say that I have bought a great pair of Adidas shoes.
First of all, let me start by stating the reason why I bought this pair of shoes. I currently have a black pair of Converse All-Stars which I have been wearing since I first came here back in August 2008. I use them as my walking shoes and I go around everywhere with them. They are great as they match anything I wear. They are after all, the original black Converse All-Stars that millions upon millions of people have been wearing for decades long. However, I realize now why Converse All- Stars retail for such a cheap price (you can get them for RM89.90, which is quite cheap for a branded product, it is expensive individually but cheap relatively). It is simple, the wear off very easily and were meant to be worn in another age. When I first wore my Convers All-Stars, I was happy to wear an icon that had been assimilated many societies around the world for decades.Everybody is just used to seeing this shoe.Anyway, after taking a few steps, mind you I was wearing a new pair of socks. I began to feel very uncomfortable as the rough fabric in the interior of the shoe began to rub against my socks resulting in friction on my shoes, socks and most importantly feet. This just keep happening over and over again and the more I walked, the worst my feet would feel. On some days where I would walk long distances, I would find my feet blistered or scratched by these shoes. My shoes were falling apart too. The interior which was made from fabric started to wear off and tear especially at the heel part of the shoes. This made my feet feel even worst whenever I walked around in it. Oh yea, since the shoes are made up entirely of fabric (with rubber at the soles of course), I would get them wet whenever it rained due to the puddles and rain drops. This, well, sucked. Another reason why I decided to buy a ne pair of shoes was because 2 of the holes (I think their called eyeholes or something) that were like metal rivets came out. I'm not even sure how that happened.
Anyway, I bought a new pair of shoes today. Just look at it. If you were to inspect them thoroughly with your eyes, you'd know that this pair of shoes were made with effort, dedication and most of all passion. My pictures below don't truly capture their perfection so I'm not doing much justice to the shoes. The shoes probably look about 15 times better in real life than they do here:

Here's a picture of the box. It is green in color unlike normal Adiddas Originals boxes which are turqoise. I bought a special edition tennis shoe. I'm not sure what is the model name of this pair of shoes. The box is really great. It is actually quite big in size compared to the normal Adidas Originals boxes. In fact, this is the biggest shoe box that I have ever gotten. One other feature of the box is that the 3 white stripes are embossed. This is a really nice effect and is not available on any other Adidas boxes I have ever seen.

The side view of the box. The model name is stated here along with the details of the shoes. Notice that I bought size 11 1/2 US. Yeah, my feet are big but the supersizing is probably due to the Adidas wierd sizing of shoes. I'm actually a size 10 1/2 US by Adidas standards. 10US by Nike standards. If you look closely the original price stated is RM 329.90. I didn't buy it for this price though.

I'm not sure if you guys can read this but it says Tournament Edition on Centre Courts since 1949. Again, this pair of shoes were a special limited edition. They were made with a lot more effort. So everthing is more special.

Open the box and you will see a big card covering the shoes. It is bigger than and A4 sized paper and it say the same thing as what I wrote earlier.

Here's a nicer photo of the card.

When you lift the card out, you will see the shoes. Don't they look great? This box is special because it is divided into 2 parts. That's carboard there not some cheap piece of paper. Even I was suprised when I first looked at it. This was what made me decide to put up this post. Just look at how much shoe manufacturers are holding out on us.

Another view of the shoes when I put them upright. They look like Adidas Superstars but they are very different. They don't have big laces. The front part of the shoes which is made of rubber has no patterns and has been dyed to give the shoes a vintage look.

The bottom surface of the box when I remove 1 shoe from it.

The view of one side of the shoe. The stripes are in 2 colors. The stripes at the ends are in a leafy green color whereas the center stripe is in a light olive green colour. If you look closely, notice that there is a tag hanging at the side of the shoe. It is made of real leather. It completes the shoes look. The shoes look like haute couture. Extremely high quality. Attention to detail. Not a single flaw. The white leather shines as if they have been poilished with high quality leather cream. The leather quality is seriously very good guys. You have to look at it in real life to appreciate it. It shines and you can just tell, it is just great.

The other side of the shoe. You can see the leather shining in this picture.

Top view of the shoe. The tongue of the shoe is perforated and is made of leather both on the outside and the inside. This is very good since there's a lot of leather inside the shoe.

The tip of the shoe. It is made of rubber ans it has a vintage look. It has a mildly course surface and does not have any patterns which is unlike the Superstars.

The behind part of the shoes. Notice that it is just green in color. Without any patterns or logos.

The heel of the shoe. Look at the badge embroided inside. It looks fabulous. You almost never ever see any shoe with this much attention to detail. Usually, the inner sole of a shoe just has some cheaply printed on logo that comes fades away after you wear it for a while. This shoe has an emborided label. The inner sole is covered with leather. LEATHER man......! How often do you get shoes like these. Most shoes just come with some cheap fabric on the inner sole. The heel part is also made of leather. It is in a mild brown/cream colour and the leather has padding under it. It's just like the interior of a perfect sports car. The leather is really like the ones you find on expensive bags. The Louis Vuitton ones, etc. It's just so fucking high quality.

A close look at the heel. You can see the embroided badge and leather heel here.

The bottom part of the shoe has a simple pattern. However, I think it was designed to look like the holes in a tennis racket or something. I'm not too sure though. But the holes are shape like tiny hexagons.

The label. Notice my shoe size is 11 1/2. I'm a Hobbit. :(

Okay, my honest opinion of this pair of shoes, they are of extremely high quality. They appear to be designed like shoes used in country clubs. A lot of high quality leather is used in these shoes and it really make the shoes live up to their design cnocept. They are like luxury brand goods. They are on the same foot as Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Tods, Stuart Weitzmann, Jimmy Choo. Okay, they may not be that good but I think Adidas really compared themselves to these luxury brands and they came out being winner for creating a product this good. The only thing this shoe does not have is higher quaility material which is what luxury brands like Louis Viutton and Jimmy Choo use. But Adidas used materials which were available to them that were still great. This pair of shoes are really great and shows that Adidas has really branched out into the fashion industry. They are no longer just a mere simple sporting goods manufacturer. They are fashion designers. They are really shoe specialists. While other high fashion labels can make beautiful dresses for women or great tuxedos for men, Adidas can beat them by making the best possible sneakers. It is Adidas's domain and Adidas, with this shoe, has made a statement to high fashion brands which says, "Don't step into the sneaker making business, that's our thing. We've been doing it forever and we know what to give to our customers. All you've got is an expensive brand that appeals to social climbing people who are ignorant".

Now for the price of this pair of shoes. If Lacoste were to sell this shoe, ther would probably sell it for RM800.00. The original price that Adidas names was RM329.90 as I have mentioned earlier. I bought this on discount for exactly RM197.95. Yes, it is still cheaper than those cheap, lauzy, Nike Cortez shoes or the entry level ones. Adidas has really outdone themselves by making a product this good. You've got to respect the Germans, they know how to make their cars and shoes right. It definitely puts Adidas up there above Nike and any other sports brands. I salute you Adidas for making this pair of shoes. For really wanting to make me happy. For doing something becaused you desired to not because you were forced to.You can tell that you bought something great if iyou are just compelled to write a blog post for 3 hours. It is really that good guys. I love shoes. Alvin, this is another reason why you will not ever need a girl in your life. Aldrin, I know, it's just a shoe.

Wassup!!!

Yeah.. Nothings up there except fan and ceiling (FOTC??).. Haha.. Thanks for the birthday post, dude.. I got some suprises few days before my actual birthday.. Some of my classamates 'palat' me and I got cake for lunch at polytechnic..

It has been 9 days since my birthday.. Everytime when I said that, it reminds me to say this:

Happy Birthday Aaron Zachary!!!!

Haha.. Finally another guy joined my club.. Gang orang-orang tua.. He knows about our blog or not?? Lol..

Anyways, the survival camp got postponed again.. At first, the crocodiles escaped and we were not allowed to have any water activities.. Later, they said they have to close the whole place because 2 bears (I think its sun bear) escaped.. Our organizer, the boss (the one who wears specs and drives a van), was so mad and postponed it to Gawai season.. Few days later, they called back said the place is opened again.. But da crocs and bear still out on the loose.. This Saturday, the team will be going Bunuk to survey for new campsite..

To think back, Simple Guy have been missing for quite long already.. I guess he's having hard time looking for the time and place to go online.. Thats what I heard from him when the last time he called me..

I still got 8 more weeks to finish my last semester.. By then, its already 3 years lor.. The only obstacle is my final project for now.. Guess its time to back and crack my head with Visual Basic Programming.. For the rest the guys out there, all the best with whatever you're doing..

NOOOO!!!!

NOOOOO!!!

You lucky devil.. hahahaha

Wah dah maju dah Ah din.. hahaha Say hi to Sze Howe and Poh Sim.. Guess What.. I inserted Russel Peters name in the Google search engine for his images... You wanna know what picture appear...

THIS!!!MUHAHAHAHAHAHA... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...RUSSEL...RUSSEL... SOMEBODY GOTTA GET HURT REAL BAD!!! HHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Phew..
Wow.. Ok give me a sec...
Wokies.. wassup people?? Wah heard simon a CG leader in his Block or Faculty rite?? How many ppl you have bro?? Heard it's lent to.. Hmmm all I can remember from lent are those aluminium donation tin that you get in church.. hahaha

Just joking.. It's a good time to reflect what the Lord has done, What he is doing and what is yet to come.. Awesome rite?? Yeah man.. Awesome.. We got a bout roughly 5 weeks to easter and Wow man!! It's Easter already. The single most coolest event of the year since like forever.. hahaha...

Have you guys thought of bringing people to church and get them saved?? Because I feel that is what we truly lack.. As 'Christians' we are always self-centered and we do not dare to go out into the world and go make disciples of Christ.. We say se believed in Christ and yet one of his most important teaching we have never achieved..

Simon brought up the 10 commandments., which is an awesome law by the way.. The whole commandment can be sumed up to 2 parts
  1. Love God wholeheartedly
  2. Love People Fervently
Man, we Christians are good at the first part, heck man we love God so much that the whole world knows about it. Rightly so, but it's the second part which always failed us.. Including yours truly.. People here means.. EVERYBODY.. From the Church to the Unchurched we are suppose.. NO..we are bound to love people feverishly..

I always gave alot of reason's not to approach someone and tell them about Jesus, truthfully the only reason that mattered is Jesus himself.. Always afraid to be rejected and say that the person not open or so.. But who are to Judge until we open our mouths..

But seriously through experience, human beings are more spiritual then we think... It is written God created man in his image.. God is a spritual God, we are his image, hence we humans are more spiritual then we even give credit to ourselves..

Don't get me wrong.. Don't go to a person and tell them straight to their face that Jesus died for their sins and if they don't believe in him they will perish you know where... You can do that no prob.. Heck man it wont be effective.. You just scare the dude beyond wits...

Everything that I am sharing with you guys here are all my experiences that I had in JB.. The only way to win a person is through relationship... Yup relationship wins peolpe.. That's what we lost in BB.. We always thought of the games, the activity... but where is the relationship between the boys and officers and among boys themselves..

You wonder why organization, churches... in fact anything in the sun don't grow is because it is lacking of relationship..

Yeah.. that's why we are here.. blogging.. we want to maintain our relationship.. and It's getting better every week man.. everybody chipping in..YEAH!!!! How to build relationship.. just do what you always do, go lunch with friends, lepak ka, mamak ka.. just do something together and make sure te person knows you care... and if there is a need meet the need.. People don't care how much you know until you show how much you care..

Yeah.. Hope you have a different Easter this year.. It is still 5 weeks away..Ample of time to invite your buddies to events if got any or start one your own..

By the way shel... How's Unimas??

Replies...

Aldrin,
Thanks for the best wishes. Just to let you know, we have not build anything yet, let alone the robots. The international competition is held in Japan this year. But we are just focusing on passing the FIRST MATCH for now... (sad).... please send my regards to Sze Howe and Poh Sim... =p

Alvin,
What is this I hear? My ass is gonna get whoop??? hahahaha.... funny lah!!!
(oh shit!!! I'm really gonna get my ass whoop now!!!)

Simon,
Don't worry about it man. We all forgave you a long time ago... Right guys???... =p .... Anyways, I'm sure you of all people know that our God will forgive those who repents because He is a living, loving and forgiving God. So, when we realize what we have done is wrong, then we should come back to Him and ask for His forgiveness. Not only that, we should also believe that He has forgiven us. Remember what Jesus has done for us on the cross, for our sins....okay?? I'm sorry I couldn't be of much help to you but always know that Jesus can help you in anything. He even gave sight to the blind, raise the dead and all!! I know you know this already, but it doesn't hurt to remind one another once and awhile, right?? =p

Well, just remember that Jesus is always infront of you, to lead you, and we are always behind you, to support you. We got your back, bro!!

That goes for all you guys too...Cheers!!!

GBU.

Tales From Down Under

Here's another one from Aldrin!

Actually, nothing much has happened in the past few weeks. The classes have started, summer is ending and the weather has gone crazy. Can you imagine it? It is a blistering 36 degrees one day and 8 (EIGHT! Single digit!) degrees on the following day. Can you imagine how cold is 8 degrees Celsius? It's like the whole Perth was thrown into a refrigerator and the cooler turned to full blast. Every blow of the wind is a time when Aldrin narrowly escapes death by instant freezing. And can you believe it? The AIR-CONDITIONED classrooms are warmer than the 'natural air conditioners' of the outside air.

And it's supposed to be summer???

On a happier note, I met with Sze Howe the other day. Actually, we've met up several times... Hey, he's in UWA too. We went for several lunches together and caught up with each other. Most shocking tale I got from him is of the BB in Australia. Let's list down the horrors, shall we?

1. BB meetings are at night. This is so that drills can be conducted indoors and out of the heat of the sun.

2. 'Survival Camps' require very little survival skills. A group of seniors will go earlier and set up everything. The campers don't even have to set up their own tents, let alone dig their own drains (remember the drain-digging experience?). Meals are prepared.

3. Black shoes and belt buckles are eternally shiny. No need for weekly polishing. No need to polish AT ALL.

4. By 'Punishments', BB Australia really only mean 'warnings'. SERIOUS punishments involve a maximum of FIVE pushups.

Say it with me now: what a bunch of sissies. White people should beat their kids. Am I the only one thinking it?

And to end the post, here's a picture with Sze Howe in it.

I wonder if Ravin, Alvin and Hershel recognize the girl in red? =)

p/s: If anyone's wondering (anyone??? helloooo..??) I won't be around in May. Sorry, Hershel and W/O Raymond Yeo, but I won't be able to make it to the reunion dinner.

p/p/s: Heck, I probably won't be back until December. Guess I gonna miss out on all the birthdays.

p/p/p/s: Hershel, UWA got a Robocon coming up too! The winner of the UWA competition will be sent to the competition in Melbourne. If I am not mistaken, the winner of the Melbourne competition will represent Australia! My housemate (you guys remember Kwang Yang?) is joining the UWA-level competition. Wish you all the best in your Robocon!

Lent Part 1

Hi guys...Lets edify one another shall we?

As we all know (duhh) we're in the season of lent! Therefore i would like us all to observe this time with prayer and fasting (not nesasarily makan punya la). I want to start here by apologizing to you all on my behaviour for the past 10 years (wow that long d huh guys...hahaha). I'm sorry that I diss u guys too often. I'm sorry if theres some of u that i force my ideologies on. Sorry for bossing you guys around during our school days. Sorry for acting so gay when u guys really feel uncomfortable. More confesions: I find hard to let go of some stuff. I still cant let go/shake off BB in my life, Angeline, kolok mee, adult materials, and malas-ness. I feel lke this things are holding me back, anchoring me down. pray for me to shake it off. I know some may not want to talk about personal matters here but I'm stepping out of my comfort zone here. Thanks for letting the time to read and forgive me.

Every since entering uni i have feel that my life is totally drastically different from my earlier days. It feels more "worldly". I enjoy so much that the world have to offer but i feel that i spiritualy have decline so badly. I have been reading the bible less and less. Having quiet time less and less. Praying less and less. Let me just confess my sins to my brothers then i can go and face God. I feel that my passion for older things are decreasing. Altho I am the CG leader for the whole of UM medical faculty, I feel that i maybe unworthy and am not putting enough commitment in serving the Lord. Yes, I know. Everything has a reason, everything of God is at the right place placed by God. Its funny how when i randomly pick a verse from the bible just now it showed me to the 10 commandments. Is it something that I should learn?

10 Commandments
1) "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the Land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me."
2)You shall not make for yourself an idol
3)You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God
4)Remember the Sabbath by keeping it holy
5)Honour your father and mother
6)You shall not murder
7)You shall not commit adultery
8)You shall not steal
9)You shall not give false testimony against your neighbour
10)You shall not covet your neighbour's house. (His wife, manservent donkey, etc)

My understanding of the meaning in the bible isnt so far indepth ala theologian to "teach" about this. But instead let us share and edify one another ya.

NUMBER 1 COMMAND
Listen to the command...haha....Yes..Let us listen to God and listen only to God. Then we shall not have "any other gods before me". Its hard not to be drag into the influence of the world. Hey its not wrng to go for roadtrips, have BBQ, do projects, hanging out with friends and stuff but to the point of loosing touch of the spiritual self, its painful to me. Its hard to push ourselves to do other things or to maintain something good.I want my old self back! But what i want more than my old self is, you know what? MY NEW SELF! Yes. We should all always be renewing ourselves in our one God that rule and loves us all. Why God wants us to only worship him? (Its gonna sound abit controversial) Is there anyone else since God is the one that made EVERYTHING?!! And He saved us. He loves us. He forgives us. He has done so much for us (like a really cool song goes....He is powerfull in deed is powerful in words before God and all his people!...<---betul kah??hehe). And we want to live in Love and Peace and isnt it what God is. God=Love Love=God Did you know that i dont have to say all this this? Because I know that you all already know what each and every commandment means and all that you need to know. Its just that it is really good and comforting to be able to keep each other together and keep REMINDING each other about it. Each has a demon of their own (maybe, maybe not). If we do we cant fight it alone. We need each other. Nothing is accomplished alone. Even our Beloved is in TRINITY. Disciples were 12. Husbands have wives. And let not this blog be just a "Bunch of dudes just wanna keep in touch with old friends 21st century style" but also a place of edifying and fellowship.

Wait i'm not done yet. I came upon a Christian article talking about uni life. This person habis sudah. Graduated and all. He/she was saying that she was active in church, uni CF, CG leader, organizing Christian stuff and the sort. The issue was that he/she havent have many non-Christian friends. So when he/she ajak go minum tak ada orang wanna go! So how far and wide have we ( yes us!) go to "spread the news"?. Ya we are not trained to evangelize and conduct alpha course or whatever it is. But isnt just being friends and showing them a good example of what being a Christian is all about just as enough?Saying that, how may of us actually spend loads and loads of time being nice to our yet to believe brothers and sisters? And for others, are we showing the Christian characteristics that we ought to show? Are we all the 10 commandments commands? Where is our Obedience? Reverence? Discipline? Self-Respect? And everything else? Are we of TRUE CHRISTIAN MENLINESS?? I am not asking any of you to comply or whatever, just think for yourself. Should we take it easy and say that everyone is different? EXACTLY! Everyone is different but it can never compromise the attitude and Godliness that is of GOD! It will fit!! If we dont clean our act now, when else? What if the end of days is just 5 minutes from now???....................................
