A Weekend At Ian's

Okay, this post was supposed to be put up last week. Anyway, I'll finish it now as I will be going to Melaka this Friday and will only be back on Sunday or Monday. I didn't take any photos except for one random shot while Ian and I were at the bust stop. I'll include it as well just to make this post seem more attractive.

Okay, 2 Friday's ago, I began my journey to Ian's around 7.20pm. Yea, I know it may seem a little weird to travel at such a late time especially to a far away place like Serdang but I had to cos Ian was only free from Uni then. I was suppose to take the 6.56pm train but I ended up leaving my house at the mentioned time as I had to transfer stuff out of my computer and into my external hard drive to clear space in my notebook. Tell you why later. Anyway, I was in time for the 7.36pm train and arrived at KL Sentral at 8.00pm. Unfortunately, the train to Seremban (which passes by Serdang) was delayed. I felt a bit surprised as this particular train is also the bread and butter of the KTM train company as it passes by MidValley Megamall. You'd think that they'd pay more attention to this particular route but what to do? You should only expect the worst from the worst train company in Malaysia. Anyway, this caused a 20 minute delay in my journey and I ended up reaching Serdang at around 9.15pm. I felt a bit sorry for making Ian wait at the Serdang station for me for such a long time. I would like to apologize here.

Anyway, it was great to see Ian. I haven't been to his place since April I think. It was great we chatted while waiting for the bus and then left to his place. Then we stopped by the famous mamak stall Ian took me to earlier this year to have dinner. I ordered one Roti Michael Jackson (in tribute to the King obviously) and 1 Maggi Mee Goreng. To be honest with you, I had been waiting anxiously just to eat at the Mamak Stall again. The food there is really really good and there's plenty of variety. Sorry guys, didn't take a picture :P Really sad. Anyway, the food was great and I enjoyed it. I think that they use a special curry as the base for all their dishes but whatever it is, it's working. Just writing about it makes me think about the dishes served there. It is definitely one of my motivations to visit Ian.

Anyway, after we had dinner we went back to his place. I bunked in his room which has changes as he now has his own room. Anyway, we didn't really do much that night apart from talking and playing with his computer. It was really great for me as I had not have a friend to talk too in a while. Haven't met up with my best friend in college too. We slept late although no where near the times that I've been achieving this past few days. We were suppose to wake up at 7.00 in the morning to join one of his housemates for dim sum or something (breakfast, fahamlah....). We ended up waking up at around 9.30 like that. Hehehe. Biasalah.

After that, Ian took me to a shop that we went to last time to have brunch. Unfortunately, I have no pictures which may not be so good for readers out there as pictures would better explain what I will be talking about in the next few lines. Anyway, this shop serves up food in large portions. I think eating there only cost less that RM4 and you get a lot. For RM 4 you get a measly plate of Kuay Tiau in Subang Jaya. It tastes good though. I was quite satisfied with the food in the shop in Serdang. It tastes good and they give you a lot. Worth every cent. Anyway, after that we went to the Mines and spent the whole day there. Ian showed me the new shops at the Mines and we went around looking at electronics devices. The mines is very big and there are a lot of shops. You could definitely get lost walking there. We went to Old Town after that to play with our phones and test out their wifi capabilities. How sad right? We're really dorky people aren't we? :P Yea, laugh it out Simon.

After leaving the Mines, we left for dinner back at a shop near Ian's place. We ate wantan mee and a sizeable portion i might add. Didn't cost too much. Ian told me that this isn't the best tasting wantan mee in Serdang but I felt that it is the best tasting wantan mee that I've had since coming to KL. You see, I have only eaten wantan mee at 3 places so far. The one in Subang sucks and the one in KLCC sucks even more. So I was happy to be reminded of how nice wantan mee can be. One thing great about Serdang is that the price of eating outside is much more fairer compared to Subang. In Subang, you have to know the right places to get the best things which is why you have to have a strong network of friends which I don't have :p When we went back, I topped up my phone again. Seriously guys, I brought this up cos I'm probably the only person who is still using the basic call and sms rates on Maxis. I mean sms costs 15 sen and call  costs 33sen. Damn, only 2 of my friends use Maxis. So you can guess how many times I have to top up in one month. I didn't join the Youth Club thingy co by the time I found out, the promotion had ended. Help me! I called Raymond when we arrived at Ian's and both Ian and I talked to Raymond for like 30 minutes. Well worth the money. Hey Ray, cheer up dude. Things will get better. Hope that you've gotten the room that you want. I was very sad when I left Kuching too. Actually guys, you may not have realized this but an ancient post about me leaving Kuching was written with much sadness even though it was short. I hope you meet friends there. I'll call you every month so that we don't get out of touch.

Moving on. Nothing much happened that night but I went to sleep after piecing together my broken soap dispenser with the World's Most Useless Gam: Bolstik Gam. It didn't work at all. Just wasted my time. Never buy this gam even though they say that it's for pottery and glass. Always use gam gajah.

On the last day, we left for MidValley to meet up with an old friend, Thoo! :)  I had not met this guy since 2006 and well, he hasn't changed one bit. He's still the same Thoo. On our way to MV we were deterred by the KTM service yet again. They canceled a train and Ian and I had to wait for 40 minutes. That sucked and we were both fuming. Studies should be done to determine whether the KTM service is the ultimate cause of anger among Malaysians. Anyway, we met Thoo and had lunch at Kim Gary, a restaurant that I've never eaten at b4. It was nice, I had the bake rice with cheese and well, I still think that the one we had I Kuching tastes better. The Secret Garden one. Thinking of it reminds me of Aldrin saying "well worth the money" or "RMXX well spent" repetitively :) It cost me RM 20 with tax included. They served a soup which tasted average and probably given to fulfill value for money requirement, dessert which was okay but still just given to fulfill value for money requirement and a beverage which was reasonable together with the baked rice. My rating, okay onlylah. I mean your paying RM2o which can be used to buy nearly 7 sets of Onions rings from A&W. For this amount I would expect better tasting food.  The type you don't normally get like sushi.

After that, we went around looking for formal clothes for Thoo who was preparing for a freshmen -sophomore night. The 3 of us spent quite a while looking for a wallet. But serioulsy, the wallets at Jusco are really marked up. You might as well spend your money buying a branded one. They are selling  wallets for RM30 after discounting it from RM140. Think of the profit margins they make on normal days. It was the JCard member's sale btw. Not only that, just imagine how much one wallet really costs to produce? Probably RM10 and your paying RM140 to show off your wallet. Just head down to Paul Smith guys. It's worth the money. Btw Alvin, a shirt at Ed Hardy's cost RM 400. Seriously, where did it come from? Heaven? Shoes cost about RM250, so you might want to consider it although they are about as comfortable as a pair of RM89.00 Converse All- Stars.

Anyway, after shopping around we parted at the Bank Negara Station. Ian and Thoo went to church and I well, you guessed it. I went home to sleep. Anyway, I really had a great time meeting up with you guys. Ian, thanks for being a great host. I really appreciated the effort you put in to take me places and show me how  you've been living your life. Thanks dude. Here's a shout out !!

Oh yea btw, Simon, yea, I really appreciate the words you gave to me and sorry for offending all you guys who I'm friends with. I know you guys are modern dudes who are better than a lot of people. I knew this when wrote my post. When I chose the words, "you just put me in a group" I knew that the same words would be used against me. I wrote my post to raise awareness and to offend racist jerks out there. And also because I was expressing my true feelings. Do not be worried all my friends, I'm friends with you and I know that all of you are not bad people. You guys are great friends and I was not targeting anyone of you. The last thing that I would think of anyone if you is that you are racist. Oh yea, thanks Simon. Thanks, Alvin. You guys cared. I mean reflect on this word: CARED. It is great that you did. To me, one of the greatest rewards is when someone thinks about you. Think about it. Imagine if the girl of your dreams thought about you? Wouldn't you be happy? I thank you guys and even though not a fan of religion I am proud to have friends like you. True Christian friends who personify true Christian values.

I guess that's ALL for now. Will blog when I come back from Melaka. Take care! :) You would have probably walked away or log on to youtube somewhere in the middle of this post. Yea, super long.

I'm moving out!

Hey guys, as the title of this post says, I'm moving out of my room in SS15. Yup, I'm doing it again after moving out from Taylor's October last year. But this time, there is a twist as I will only be moving to a place a few feet away. Hehehe, I will be moving to my ex-housemate, Alvin's room which is just in front of mine.

I am very happy despite losing a housemate. You see, Alvin was the one who introduced me to this house and even helped me get in touch with the owner. Even though, he did his best to help me, my house owner initially objected to letting me rent the room. I am still unsure of why this happen but it did. Maybe she was lust lazy and did not give much thought to it and just gave Alvin a reply in a haste. Maybe she didn't want a black guy staying in her house. Regardless, I had to meet her and convince her that I wanted the room and I eventually succeeded. When I visited the house for the first time, I was impressed and felt that it resembled my house in Kuching. The large living room area with a dining room next to it was familiar and I knew immediately that I had to move in here.

The room that I moved into initially was hot because there was no ceiling fan and the sun would shine through the windows for a large part of the afternoon up till sunset. The heat caused by the sunlight would was my room to be heated and warmer that the other rooms. I suppose this is also a problem face by my other housemates living upstairs. However, they have air conditioning systems to cool their rooms down and I don't. All I have is a measly standing fan that needs to be repositioned every time I move from my table to my bed (not a fun task especially if you keep doing it over and over again). One bad thing which I did not notice at first was the water pressure. I felt that it was okay when I tested it at first. Little did I know that it was extremely bad.

Anyway, moving on with my story. Alvin is moving out to live with his buddies in a room that will be shared by 3 people with him in the equation. He's moving in with his engineering buddies. I guess I'm happy for him as he will be staying with his buddies. You see, in the past two semesters, Alvin has been staying over at his friends on occasions and his friends have been doing the same as well. I guess he can chat all he wants now and do more things with his friends. He has told me that he will be going to the library everyday though as there is no room for him to study. With 3 people in a room, I can see why that's a problem. He also told me that he wants to move out to save money as it only costs RM18+ to share a room.

Now back to the black guy part. Okay, my house owner has been a bit unfair to me for being born a black guy. You see, Alvin's room is a bit bigger than mine (a bit, but their is noticeably significant difference) and he only has to pay RM270 every month. Me on the other hand, paid RM290 just get my less featured room. Then one day, when there was an opening in the top floor (i.e. one of the air conditioned rooms), she offered it to me for RM550. Steven, my other housemate only needs to pay RM500. Now, she is offering me Alvin's room for RM340. That's RM70 more that she did to Alvin. I tell you this, it is because I'm black. Simple. I always get charged higher because of the color of my skin and my inability to converse in Chinese. It sucks being a black guy. Don't think I do not understand the value of RM70. I once had only RM75 in my bank account and there was still about 2 weeks to go before the end of the month. I remember how much I had to make use of that RM75. I ended up asking my dad for more money and I get how embarrassing it is. You know what, I just don't get why black people get discriminated. People think we're dirty, rough and uneducated. Girls and women stay away from me and think I'm a mat rempit, penyamun, perogol or peragut. Indians and Chinese consider me Malay and think the worse of me. Who do I go to? I can't got to the Chinese, Indians or Malays. Who? God ah? The biggest joke. And you guys go to church every Sunday and shout Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Almighty God Hallelujah! "It's a joke, It's all a joke" as the Comedian would say.  It's bad enough that I have to live with the inevitable fact that no one will ever love me. It is made worst as I have to face discrimination from the white people of Malaysia, my supposedly superiors, masters. You guys will never changelah. White people will always look down, put down and make sure we black people stay down. I feel pain of all black peoples of this nation facing discrimination from the whites. Why do you white guys feel better than us black people? What have I ever done to deny you the right to live? Nothing, but you put me in this group of people that you feel are lower, lesser, insignificant, milk-able than your superior white genes. I didn't chose to be born like this, your "Saviour" "made(if He does existlah)me this way. I'm an ugly dumb bad black man. I'm an ugly dumb bad black man. I'm an ugly dumb bad black man. There's I've said it. You can keep reading this sentence for the rest of your lives you white people as a reminder of how you triumphed over me. It is sealed in history. I kneel down with all the pride left in me kicked out by you; bow and place my hands and head at your feet; I front of the whole world and declare I submit, I lose you win, I am nothing, I am beneath you; I am a lesser creature who can only envy the life a true human being (a white person), the beauty, the accomplishment and the greatness of the white race; and I humbly and with the greatest of hope, I beg for your mercy to allow me to have the very basic elements required to sustain life which the Almighty God has placed in your possession. I plead for you most gracious mercy. A degree of mercy which only the white race can ever achieve.

Inspired or Disturbed.

And you guys go to church every Sunday and shout Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Almighty God Hallelujah!

Life in UMS...

Yo, guys (again but this time all the way from KK)... Thanks, Ravin.. I guess you'll gonna blog a lot within this few days la.. Keep up you're super long blog.. Haha!

Yes!! Finally I was able to settle down, sitting here in the Megalab.. Well, Megalab is like a cyber for UMS student.. There are about 500 computers in this lab (at least they don't call Magalab for nothing).. To use these coms, I need to get the access voucher from the counter and it can last for 5 hours.. And if you still don't get enough from that 5 hours, you can just go to the counter and get another voucher.. Ah.. Next time can come here for LAN party la.. Haha!

This the view of Megalab from the entrance
(noticed that there's a guy walking pass, he is also from second intake)

Sorry for if I'm not posting any good photos from Sabah in this sem.. I'm actually using my handphone.. Plus the internet connections is quite slow here.. Perhaps, I'll bring my cam over next sem.. Whahaha!!! (Syok Sendiri)

Today is my first day meeting with all my new gangs from E&E.. And guess what? The first intake for this course is only 17 students!! 8 more from the second intake (including me) for now.. So I have been wondering if I'm studying in the right place or not.. But of course, there is "part of the reason" for being here though.. But in study wise, I hope I can get the most of it from here..

Ok la.. I'll continue more some other time.. Time for lunch.. Lol!
See you guys again end of this year (by November)..
Byes and God Bless!! ^_^

Congrats to Raymond!!!!!!!!!

First of all, I would like to congratulate Raymond on gaining admission into UMS. I'm SURE he will enjoy himself there  A LOT (if you guys know what I mean  O_^ ). I guess everyone in our group has finally entered university. I was thinking the other day of how everyone has gone to different places. Hershel to UNIMAS, Simon to UM, Ian to UPM, Raymond to UMS, Aaron  to Cardiff, Aldrin and Sze Howe to UWA, Alvin to UTM and me to Taylor's. We are all in different places. So far away some more.

Actually, I'm a bit disappointed that Raymond got into UMS. Don't get me wrong, I was hoping all the way that he would get into the university of his choice but I was secretly hoping that he would get into UTM as well. That way, I would have somewhere to visit during my holidays -_-". I mean, if he got into UTM, I would be able to go to Johor to meet him and Alvin. Since he has gone to Sabah, my holiday plans have been canceled :( . Unless of course, I want to have some one on one time, heart to heart, jiwa sama jiwa gayfest alone with Alvin :P. Not cool. On the bright side, Raymond doesn't need any company from us guys when he is Sabah. He can have as many heart to hearts, jiwa sama jiwa, one to one time non-gayfests as he wants in Sabah.

My holidays began 2 mondays ago actually. I finished both my exams on Monday and then it was over. I was so tired that I fell asleep when I got back. Then, I went out with Ian and Jonathan Hoh who was visiting Malaysia for 3 weeks I think. He is in Kuching now I guess. Jonathan Hoh has really changed I guess. I told him that he hasn't but I guess he has in a huge way. I mean it is not that he dresses or styles himself differently. It's the way he mixes with people. The last time Jonathan was here, he seemed like a shy guy who was only very comfortable with those close to him. Now, he has opened up to other people a well. I think the change is great. He's still the same Jonathan we know albeit with a strong New Zealand accent which is hard to catch at times. I can really learn a lot from Jonathan's change. Maybe I too should be more open and comfortable with strangers. I tend to treat my friends much better than I do to my acquaintances.

I also went to Melaka from Friday to Monday last week. Melaka is great and it has really changed if you guys haven't known. The whole place has developed physically. There are so many malls now compared to when we went there at the end of 2003. Last time, the only mall that was in the city (ie. around the Stadhuys Church) was Mahkota Parade. Now there is a very big shopping mall just across the road from Mahkota called Dataran. There is also another mall cum hotel which will be completed by the end of the year I think called Hatten Square. Just look at the photo below:

I'm not sure if you guys remember, but this used to be a plain old stands on a padang. Now, the padang has been replaced by a mall. The building on the right is the second part of Dataran and the building in the back on the left of the photo is Hatten Square. The soon to be constructed mall. But  I like the new Melaka. There are so many cool places within one area. You can just walk around to find something to do. Here are some more pics:

Here's a view of Dataran. This is the entrance with  a lot of restaurants.

Stadhuys Church. The trishaw driver on the left crashed into the 2 tiny pillars in the middle of the photo a few seconds after this photo was taken :(

A Farmosa. I took quite an okay picture of it.

A waterfall-like wall in the shop in which I ate Chicken Rice Balls for the first time. The girl seating on the left is quite pretty. To bad she is a SPG who only wants white head.

The Chicken Rice Ball Shop again in Jonker Street.

Menara Taming Sari at night. This is something new. Kinda cool actually though I didn't go inside it.

The Eye on Malaysia. This place is actually Melaka's number 1 tempat berdating at night actually. It is like waterfront only 10 times better. There was so many couples berdating that it was hard for me to find a spot to take a picture.

Melaka River. This river is much more cleaner than the one in Kuching.

Anyway, I'll update you with more posts soon. Got plenty of free time. Take care :)
